Golden Dose Technique

I know it’s on its way out, but whilst it’s still available can someone help me with my extraction technique. I seem to bend the needle of the syringe that I’m using to extract the dose. I struggle to hold the pen and syringe and keep them straight. I followed FatOldClimbers video and he made it look so easy. Any tips on what I might be doing wrong?

Are you using fixed needle syringes, or Luer Lock syringes where you can change the needle afterwards if you happen to bend it?

I haven't watched the video you mention, but it's really just a matter of being as steady and careful as possible.

Just go really slow, dont rush at all. Think to yourself its the most delicate thing in the world and handle it like its gonna break.. pop needle in turn pen upside down then pull syringe plunger slow and steady.. you will get the hang of it.

You get used to it. I've being doing it for ages, still sometimes bend the needle a bit. It is very delicate.

I didn't need to use a syringe, I just used pliers to force the pen and that worked really well.

18 months of syringes and I've never bent one yet. Is it bending in the skin or in the pen? Aim for the middle of the red bung and you can lay them next to each other on a table if prefer. When the needle is inside the pen, keep it central and don't hit the sides.

Thanks for the tips. I think laying it on the table and going really slow might be the way to go. I tried forcing the pen but had no luck with that. I’m obviously a bit clumsy.

No, you aren’t being clumsy. It’s very easy to bend those teeny needles when shoving them through a bung. Ideally you’d change the needle to do the actual injection anyway, so that it’s nice and sharp. I do tend to use bigger needles for pulling it out though.
