MJ Plateau Advice

Hello All,

can someone advise me on this issue
pleass?

I am currently taking 7.5 MJ, sadly I seem to have plateaued which is thoroughly disheartening;
should I order a dosage increase next time?.

Also, can anyone explain exactly how to “Microdose” yes I watched a video but regrettably didn’t quite understand.

Thankyou for reading & any appreciated advice.

When this happens to me, I do a mix of up water intake, up my excersizes and eat more. Sometimes having more calories can kick start the loss again
If that doesn't work then you can look at going up to the next dose

Have you plateaued because you are not keeping to your calorie deficit or is it a natural plateau as your body adjusts to previous weight loss?

Sometimes increasing calories for a week before decreasing again can kick start losing.

How long have you been on 7.5mg? Have you asked your prescriber for advice?

If you've been on 7.5mg for more than 4 weeks, an increase should be considered. I also agree with PP that a small increase of calories for a short period could potentially help. (Not all would agree with this, but anecdotallly an extra 100 or 200 calories for a day or two have helped me restart the loss in the past. Not necessarily a huge, sustained binge!)

It’s my 2nd 7.5, I was hoping not to increase again but I’m sure you are correct….many thanks.

How long has it been since you lost any weight? Do you still feel suppression and satiety?

If you've lost any weight in the last month and still feel the suppression/satiety, then hang in there. Up your water, even up your calories for a few days and see what happens. You could still order the next dose up just in case.

Re microdosing, I assume you mean short dosing? Taking a smaller dose from a larger dose pen. Micridosing is when you take a dose that's less than the lowest therapeutic dose.

For short dosing you can count clicks for most of your doses, then use an insulin syringe (32g , 1ml/100u, 4mm-12mm ). This calculator will let you know how many clicks/units you need.

Good luck.

As I'm sure you know the weight loss you achieve with Mounjaro (after a little loss of inflammation at the start) is from your calorie deficit.

So the question is are you finding it difficult to stick to your healthy calorie controlled diet? Is food noise or hunger sending you off track? If yes you can consider raising your dose as long as you have been on your current dose for at least 4 weeks.

If you are not experiencing excessive hunger or food noise you need to revisit your pillars of health: diet, hydration, exercise, sleep, rest and recovery, managing stress etc.

Are you in a calorie deficit? Perhaps track for a week and see how you do?

Springbaby2023 · 12/04/2026 20:58

I have plateaued recently on 7.5mg. I think it’s a combination of struggling to keep to a lower calorie goal now my weight is lower, and also falling off the wagon a bit in terms of exercise and good food choices. I’ve definitely lost motivation a bit now I’m two stone down, so I need the jab to be doing more of the heavy lifting and that’s not happening with 7.5. I have just jabbed 10mg tonight for the first time so will let you know how it goes.
