I used mounjaro successfully but couldn't afford it anymore - is wegovy as effective?

I haven’t changed from Mounjaro to Wegovy, although there are various threads in this section where people have. Generally, on average, Wegovy is less effective than Mounjaro, according to the clinical trial data, but not by a huge amount. People on the top dose of Mounjaro lost around 22% of their starting weight on average, whereas on the top dose of Wegovy (2.4mg) it was around 14%. There’s a new 7.2mg higher dose of Wegovy now too which is available if people need it.

How it affects you individually though is impossible to predict. It’s worth trying Wegovy to see how you get on, if you can’t afford Mounjaro.

Mounjaro worked so well, and i am already peeved at having to start again 😫 i dont want to waste time and money

I wonder if anyone has felt the same sense of non hunger and non appetite on wegovy that you get on mounjaro 🤔

From what I’ve read on the Wegovy threads here from people who have only ever taken Wegovy, they do seem to report appetite reduction and lack of hunger. Although maybe not as strong as it can be on Mounjaro, but still it’s there.

On Reddit threads there are lots of examples of people who've swapped from Mounjaro to Wegovy but it's not worked out for them and they've had to go back to Mounjaro.

I think if you've never tried a different GLP then Wegovy is worth trying.

The issue is there isn't really a good equivalent if you're on the higher doses of Mounjaro to make the switch to Wegovy financially worthwhile trying.

I think i can't take the risk, ive already wasted so much time 🙃 - i cant believe how bloody hungry I am! And its not hunger, its just the mental 'I NEED TO EAT'!!

Wegovy didn’t work at all for me. I did all the same things that I did on Mounjaro where I’d managed to lose 2 and a half stone. I just plateaued on Wegovy - didn’t gain or add despite getting all my steps in daily, doing weights and eating 1300 calories per day!
