Changing injection days/holidays

If you missed an injection due to holiday, would you inject as soon as you get home or wait until your usual injection day? I was going to inject as soon as I’m home but I’ve read that changing injection days can affect the effectiveness

Just jab as soon as you can. Leaving an even longer gap just to keep your jab on the same day isn't necessary. No idea where you read/saw that about changing injection days. You're not supposed to have less than 3 days between doses (I think?) is the closest I can come to why someone would come to that odd conclusion.

if you like a particular day to inject on then you can work your way back to it one day at a time each week.

I've done this plenty of times (been on MJ over a year).

I was actually told that by my supplier, Voy. I’ve missed a day here or there various times and never had an issue so I was surprised too

How weird! It really doesn't make a lot of sense because the longer the extra gap the more likely you are to struggle as the MJ reduces in your system. So jabbing sooner rather than later is much more sensible than worrying about whether it's a Monday or not.

I’ve extended the gap between jabs twice. Once due to a holiday where it meant I didn’t need to take it with me, but was a day or so late when I got back, and once because I was ill, by three days. It didn’t cause me any issues.

DH is with Voy and regularly travels for work (he actually takes his injections with him if flying for a period of time) but if he is back the day after etc he’s just injected the day he’s back and never had an issue. He didn’t actually ask though.

After sticking to the rules rigidly for first few months and losing a good amount, I now choose as to when I inject. If I fancy a week off to not have the appetite suppressant, be sick when I have alcohol, then that's what I do. Go back to it to get to TW while doing what works for me personally.

Yes some concern about the 4 week usage but having read a lot, I'm not anxious now.

Just doing me, also many others, who take control over times, which works out cheaper and lets you live your life without being scared of the companies' warnings, which are more about profit to order every 4 weeks and not do tje golden dose. Xx

I had to delay jabbing for 3 days so click counted and took a half dose so I could take my normal full dose 4 days later. It seemed to work well for me.

worldsgonemadnow · 05/04/2026 09:13

I just take it with me on holiday. I try and work it that im taking a golden dose with me (not that well be able to do that much longer) it does mean I may be slightly over my 30 days but im OK with that.
