Does your cycle impact how you react to WLI each week?

I’ve been on WLI for a few months now. Initially I was seeing clear trends, but then every so open I would have a rogue week where either suppression is very high or low, side effects noticeable or not etc, more susceptible to cravings etc. I went up a dose last week and literally felt no different, some suppression but not huge, no side effects etc, so I did the same amount this week and it’s hit me so hard this week. Felt horribly nauseous for over 24 hours and the headaches are back. My diet has been much the same, but the only thing I have noticed is that my period is due this week (and is late- I ovulated late this month).

So I’m just wondering if maybe my cycle might impact how I respond to the WLI each week? Just curious because I might avoid trying to go up a dose the week of my period in future!

Yes. I've never had any real nausea but have noticed it's less effective on my period, especially heavy days. I tend towards low iron so presumed it was something to do with this, and ensure I eat a lot of red meat those days- ordinarily I like to mix my protein up more so eat lots of fish and lentils too. But I used to get beef hunger on my heaviest period days before MJ anyway so it's normal for me.

I am post menopause so no cycles, been on the same Mounjaro dose for 20 months and I get days or weeks where effects are significantly different. Possibly related to what I have eaten, sleep, stress, even just body adjusting to/defending against more weight loss, and if I was still having cycles I’m sure they would be in the mix too.

Its taught me to wait 3-4 weeks before considering upping dose as if I eat mindfully, try to get sleep etc it usually sorts itself out and effects return.

Also week 2 of a new dose the levels are still increasing in your body, that may have triggered your side effects as body still adjusting to new dose.

Hope it settles and you feel better soon.
