Hi!
I hope it is ok to post, I know there are many similar.
I have never had WLI before but started Wegovy yesterday evening (0.25). I feel absolutely no different, no side effects, no reduction in appetite? I know it’s very early and it probably needs to build up but it is feeling very anti-climatic! Can anyone shed any light on/ reassurance on the Wegovy journey?!

Thank you!

@Ellswells3I have read a lot of here about wegovy and although the progress is slower, users seems to get to their goal weight. Plus I can’t afford MJ so I am stuck with Wegovy!!

Am beginning to think that I have experienced psychosomatic suppression 😂

Yes me too to be honest, I need to be patient! I am going to try and Trust the process and give it a real go, now we have got Easter out the way I will be making better food choices!!
Hows your weekend been - have you been able to make better choices with the help of Wegovy?
Do you know whether the medication builds up in your system? Eg should we expect the second dose to hit harder than the first??

How’s everyone doing? I’m still not sure if this is actually working or I’m just imagining it! 😂 I definitely don’t feel food suppression like I hear people talking about with Mounjaro but for the first time in months I’ve calorie counted this week and been able to stick with my diet so I feel like it must be helping in some way!
I really hope each jab builds up the dose in our systems too, my next ones due tomorrow so will see. Hope you’ve all day a lovely Easter weekend! x

I’ve noticed a difference already - able to avoid temptation more easily. Focussing on high fibre and protein meals - first time in months I’ve been able to stick to three smallish meals a day without snacking. Been exercising etc too which usually makes me more hungry… unsure if it’s a placebo but pleasantly surprised.

I've had some diarrhoea the last few days. Went to a beer festival last night and had some drinks, a small chinese on the way home and was sick when I got back and had terrible stomach cramps. It was definitely the greasy food rather than the ciders as it was only after eating I felt ill. Am getting the suppression in that I'm not feeling hungry and haven't eaten anything today so far apart from a very small chocolate egg but I think some of it is psychological? Got a lamb dinner later so hopefully will have a appetite for that.

Edited

I haven't read the whole thread but this is my experience too. I was away and had a couple of beers, all good. Went for the smallest fish and chips later, left lots of batter, ate slowly and ended up with terrible cramps and on the loo about an hour later. Same when I stupidly had a bit of cheesecake and cream over Easter. So very fatty/greasy things a definite no-no!

I am now on my 10th injection at 1mg btw, have lost 15lbs. My advice (as recommended anyway) is to definitely drink lots and lots of water, it just seems to help with everything.

Good luck all!

Hi! I'm a newbie, my first pen arrives in the next couple of days. Lots of research done, nervous for nausea but prepared for lots of protein especially with my vegan diet!

Good luck! Let us know how you get on. My 2nd jab is due tomorrow and I’ll weigh again then although not expecting a loss this week. Feeling a little more positive about the week ahead though :-)

May I join you all as a newbie? My first wegovy 0.25mg pen is in the post 🙂 Good luck to us all!

Perimeno, fat and early 50s with a good 20kg to lose (about 25% of me, been overweight / obese half my life). Only my DP and one friend know am doing this as feel like a complete failure / fraud in getting WLI. I have a horrible track record for not sticking to things but my health is getting worse so something needed to happen, hopefully this will help me.

Mine is arriving today via Juniper!

I'm nearly 36 with history of obesity in the family. Ive been in the same stone bracket for 3 years so after the passing of my Dad, I've decided I'd like a little help. I'm looking to lose two stone

LauraC1984 · 07/04/2026 12:59

I’ve just taken my second dose today and I’m 5.5 lbs down so very happy with that! I just hope it doesn’t go downhill from here! x

Ellswells3 · 07/04/2026 17:33

I have also taken my second dose today and although it could be placebo, I definitely have had nausea all afternoon / heartburn.. although also feel hungry at the same time 🤣 the nausea is stopping me from wanting to eat though so I guess that’s a win!!!

Good luck! I have also only told my husband & my mum as also feel like a cheat / if it doesn’t work for me I don’t want everyone to have known!

@Ellswells3Fingers crossed the suppression is kicking in for you now and the heartburn doesn’t last too long!
I feel starving today and keep picking at crappy snacks, I really hope the new dose starts working soon to stop me stuffing my face! 😂

Hepzibar · 08/04/2026 07:48

@Ellswells3i took my second dose on Sunday, have definitely felt the sides effects since. Chronic heartburn, no appetite at all, forcing myself to eat something, feel nauseous on and off. Going on holiday tomorrow so hoping this subsides. Still struggling with water intake/ got to improve that

That’s good, although hope it subsides for your holiday! Make sure you pack some rennies & peppermint tea!
I felt nauseous approx 24 hours after second dose but today it feels like that has gone and to be honest I’ve been calorie counting today but it has felt a struggle and I’ve felt hungry! Food noise and appetite definitely still present for me. It’s so weird how everyone is affected so differently!

hoodiemassive · 08/04/2026 21:12

I am four days post first jab and experiencing some suppression. Nothing major though which I think is to be expected. Am impatient for it to work but trying to eat better in the meantime…massively fell off the wagon tonight at work with biscuits and crisps though which isn’t ideal.

My job is very boring that I use food as a distraction - hoping as the jab builds up in my system I may be able to work a five hour shift without eating crap!

How’s everyone getting on?

MrsNathanDrake · 08/04/2026 21:32

Hello! I’m now about 16 months into my Wegovy journey and am over 4 stone down with one more to go. I have lost slowly and steadily and still been able to eat nice food and drink but in much much smaller quantities. I lost about half a stone in my first month. In terms of side effects, I get more acid indigestion than I used to but very minor and infrequent.

Good luck with your journey- I can’t tell just how much this has changed my life for the better!

hoodiemassive · 08/04/2026 23:52

Oh wow @MrsNathanDrakethat’s a fantastic loss! It’s great to hear of Wegovy success stories.

jabsahoy · 09/04/2026 07:51

My first pen still hasn't arrived so am dealing with a chatbot to try and sort that out! Really frustrating as its taken me months to get the courage to do this and its going to be hard money to find every month.

jabsahoy · 09/04/2026 08:12

it gets worse - on the off chance pen arrives today (royal mail couldn't find address! utterly tosh, I get regular post) I thought I'd better have a start weight. I can't bring myself to write it here but have revised my weightloss target by another 5% so 4 stone. How the actual did I let this happen to myself????

ritala · 09/04/2026 08:19

@jabsahoydont feel any shame, you are doing something about it. This is the first day of the rest of your life x

LauraC1984 · 09/04/2026 08:35

@jabsahoy don’t be too hard on yourself! If it helps, I’m in the same boat, I’ve got 4/5 stone to lose and am the biggest I’ve ever been by a long stretch, it happens! Fingers crossed your jabs arrive today and you can get started! x

lechatnoir · 09/04/2026 08:56

I'm just looking into buying options for Weygovy so hope to be joining you within the week - any retailer suggestions or discount codes welcome. I can't really afford £100+ a month but just so sick of this extra weight I'm carrying and decided this is the summer to finally shift it especially as we're going away with friends in september and I want to look forward to it rather than dread & avoid being poolside (especially as one of the ladies is a mega gym bunny and looks AMAZING)

Toomuchtothinkof · 09/04/2026 08:58

@jabsahoy don’t beat yourself up! I’ve got 5 stone to loss, hope Royal Mail find your address today

I’ve taken 2 jabs now, lost 4.5lb the first week and hopeful for another loss this Saturday when I weigh myself

beguilingeyes · 09/04/2026 09:12

For me, it was instant. The next morning, I picked up a croissant, took two bites, and then felt my whole body say "NO!" I could not have eaten a mouthful more (and I say this as someone who, if no-one else was looking, would really have liked to have eaten four or five croissants in one go before the jab).
However, my friend didn't feel anything really until she was about six weeks in although she did lose weight but quite slowly from the beginning.
We are both now at our target weights (I lost 70lbs and have been maintaining for 18 months. She lost 90lbs and has been maintaining for about a year).

Have you come off it now, or are you on a maintenance dose?

Good luck OP, and anyone starting out. It's been like witchcraft for me. The absence of food noise is miraculous. I haven't even wanted my Easter egg.
