Really silly question but not clear on the leaflet. After first dose do I put the it back in the fridge or keep it at room temperature until I finish all 4 doses. Its not clear or I'm reading it wrong?

I keep mine in the fridge.

custardlover · 11/04/2026 10:31

I think you can do either as long as room temperature is below 30degrees

TFICoffeetime · 11/04/2026 10:33

I think that was what was confusing me. So I can do either. What's the ideal. I think I'll pop it back in the fridge but worry one might make it more effective. I'm really overthinking this but desperate for it to work. X

I took my first jab last night, Mounjaro 2.5mg. I was really overthinking doing the actual injection but it was so simple. I’ve had real problems with binge eating over the past year and my weight is just creeping up every week. The food noise is insane so I’m really hoping this helps, I’m so sick of food being all consuming. I have around 2 stone to lose. My plan is to aim for around 1800 calories per day which is a 500 calorie deficit for me and do strength training at the gym three times a week. No side effects so far other than feeling more thirsty than usual.

I haven't started it yet, but my nurse told me that it stays in the fridge until you have your first dose, then it can stay out of the fridge, or you can leave it there, it's up to you.

Fordy33 · 11/04/2026 12:27

I changed my injection day to Mondays, I was doing it Fridays, but found by the end of the week it wears off a bit, which means I can join in family meals out at a weekend, still eating less but at least I’m able to eat something

I could have written all of this down to the injection last night! I did a 20min strength training class on the peloton app this morning - just dumbbells at home - I wonder if I need to actually invest in a gym membership though to get access to the serious machines? This will do for a start I guess.

No side effects so far but also no noticeable effects so let’s see.

I had my first injection yesterday, luckily i dont have any side effects so far but i dont feel less nibbly either. Is it just me? Im quite disappointed.

Exactly the same for me. I actually went back to the fridge this week to check that I’d actually taken the dose as no side effects and I don’t think I feel any less hungry although first weigh in was 2lb off. I’m chuffed with that as I know I can’t expect massive losses every week. I’ve around 2.5 stone to lose. Anyway second dose taken yesterday and no side effects again. Which tbh is a bonus 🙏

I’m glad I’m not alone! I’m sure you’ll be fine working out at home if that suits you best. I know I won’t do it unless I go to the gym! I’m already a member of one close by so I’ll just need to be more committed to going.

I’ve been a bit tired today although I was knackered last night before I even took the jag so it’s maybe just the week catching up with me. I think the appetite suppressant is working, I’ve eaten much less today than normal. I felt a bit nauseous earlier but I think that was mainly as I needed a bit more food. Finishing the day on 1500 calories which is completely unheard of for me. I think I was easily doing between 3-5000 just a few days ago! I will aim to eat a bit more tomorrow.

notcomfortable · 11/04/2026 21:04

Hello!
Just popping over from the jan 26 board
I also started mj for the first time in March 25.
If you are having good suppression, loosing weight and still managing to hit your protein goal and calorie intake then please do not rush to go up a dose. Remember there is nowhere to go beyond 15mg.
Some of us in January are still on 5mg. I myself have only just started 7.5mg. There really is no rush.
In total I have lost 32kg. I only set out to lose around 15! 😲 and I still have another 5 or so to go before I am considered a healthy bmi (I'm only 5'2)
It really is life changing but if you are struggling to eat your calories, the dose is too high. Drink your water, eat your protein and move your body is the best advice I can give
I am loosing 1kg a week from 17 thousand steps
Good luck all

I made the call to the weight management clinic on Friday and the doctor is going to confirm what bloods I need to have then I can have my appointment with her. My BMI is 36 and I have 25/30 kilos to loose to get me into a healthy BMI.
If I get approved it’s then a meeting with the nurse and the first pen.
Do the injections hurt? Or just a bit of a sting?

I just took my first one last night but it didn’t hurt or sting at all. I had been worried too but I barely felt it, the needle is tiny.

MyGardenDaisies · 11/04/2026 22:19

Hello! My 1st pen has arrived at the pharmacy, will pick it up on Monday and think do first dose on Tuesday before going to sleep.

im excited! I’ve been tracking calories for 4 months, exercise 2x weeks, but want to be in a deficit and increase steps a bit.

Still need to calculate calories for deficit and order some multi vitamins and fibre

Wow @notcomfortable thank you for your post! You have done incredibly well 😊 I’m also 5ft 2 (just under) so a 500 deficit for me is only 1100 so I really struggle to still to calories hence MJ. Im 3 week into 2.5 and have a bit less food noise but I’m still able to eat anything o want.
unsure whether to move up to 5mg or see if another month on 2.5 makes supression stronger?

Sidebeforeself · 12/04/2026 08:37

DH has lost half a stone in one week but pretty sure that mostly fluids as he has spent the week on the loo!

Gotchagood · 12/04/2026 09:10

Hello, just checking in and feeling really good

its week 3 jab for me today but feeling good so far. No gastric issues but some anxiety / racing heart which only lasts a few hours / day and can be managed now with exercise

I’m on 500 calorie deficit tracked with MFP and making sure I get 120gms protein and aiming for 30gms fibre each day

started at 12stone 7 and weighed this morning for 11stone 13 so delighted!

NorthDevonBeachLover · 12/04/2026 10:41

I'm really struggling to eat enough. The suppression is so real that I'm not even thinking about food which is completely unheard of for me. Had a 10 hour bar shift yesterday and normally I would have eaten at least 5 kitkats and crisps but nothing passed my lips!

I would keep in the fridge.

In case, you decide to use the 'golden dose or bonus dose'.

In case, you find that 2.5mg is too strong and you need a lower dose and then gradually build up.

Incase for any reason, you miss or need to or want to skip a dose.

In any of these scenarios, your pen will be needed longer than the 30days post 1st use, if kept in the fridge it will still be useable.
If kept at room temperature (<30°c), at 30days, you will have to discard the pen.

Thank you. I'm already storing at room temperature. So don't think I can put back in the fridge but I plan to store the next one in the fridge. Thanks for your advice. It wasn't too clear on instructions.

Yup and as we are coming towards summer I'm keeping mine in the fridge to get into the habit of doing so as this house can be unbearable when it's warmer

SilenceInside · 12/04/2026 11:49

@TFICoffeetime hi, I’m not an April starter but wanted to chip in about the usage and storage discussion, if that’s ok. Please ignore if not.

if you use the leftover medication for a 5th dose, that will be within the 30 days usage guideline. You’d do a normal dose on day 1, 8, 15 and 22, and the 5th dose on day 28. Similarly if you skip a dose, you’d be able to dose within the 30 days.

The 30 days use one opened applies regardless of where you store the pen, whether in the fridge or not. If you plan to use the pen past the 30 days usage, keeping it in the fridge is one way of reducing the risks, as it will degrade slower and any bacterial growth from contamination will be slower.

There’s no issue with putting your current pen back in the fridge now if you wanted to, it just needs to be stored between 2 and 30 degrees once in use.

custardlover · 12/04/2026 12:45

I’m only on day two as jabbed on Friday but no side effects yet! Just in case others were also nervous starting (TMI but I was fearing instant gastric issues but no sign of anything like that).

Wingingit11 · 12/04/2026 12:53

Joining you in this board if that’s ok as taken my first jab this week this time, though after a long break from 15 mg so 50th jab in total! Hoping mj works this well this time !

Cocachanel · 12/04/2026 13:04

Joining in!
First dose last night
SW 101.6kg
TW 80kg for now - let's see how it goes.

Instant metallic taste in mouth, mild nausea on waking, but not too bad yet.

I was very worried about the injection - scarred by memories of heparin /blood glucose checks in hospital - but barely noticeable.

Goid luck all!

monicagellerbing · 12/04/2026 13:34

First dose done. Absolutely dreading sulphur burps/diarrhoea which I had often when on Rybelsus. Really need this to work as I have over 10 stone to lose.
