Hi starting mounjaro this week is there a thread already set up I can join?

@EducatingEaterthe supression has definitely upped as I’ve had nothing all day other than water. I’ve prepared my tea, whether I eat it or not is another matter. Still no side effects other than a very metallic taste in my mouth. 8lbs off in total on the 2.5 pen so I’m hoping for 3lbs a week on the 5.

I also have strong suppression but it does tend to wear off by the weekend. Good luck on your journey :)

I am meant to do the 4th jab on Thursday and today I have submitted my questionnaire to get the pen for the second month. I have decided to go for 2.5mg again. I don’t want to lose too fast and then have lots of hanging skin, and although it is a bit less than week 1, suppression is still there.
I am so surprised of how well it is working. I should have started much earlier instead of waiting with fear and misconceptions.
out of curiosity what was the price of the 2.5 and 5 mg before the price spikes?

Hi all
I took my first jab at 5pm this eve. Was v nervous and i hate injections but it was fine Really small needle. When does appetite suppression and non food noise set in ?

For me it was from the next morning after the first jab (I jabbed in the evening) but I was very light eating that first night to avoid any side effects which I was terrified about.

I’m due for my 4th on Friday and I think I will do exactly the same as you. Slower but steadily is a good plan I think.

Slow and steady is probably the sensible way to do this, I need to try and be a little more patient! I'm going to stick with 2.5 while it's working, but order a 5mg pen and count clicks so I can go up if I stop feeling the effects.

I have just spend twenty minutes going through old clothes which I archived years ago because they were too small but I couldn’t bear to get rid of them and they (almost) fit again! It was so wonderful! Dresses which I had given up hope of ever being able to squeeze into again I can see the possibility! Not there quite yet but it’s within reach - such a buzz!

I am really looking forward to doing this. Am having to belt my size sixteen jeans now, and managed to get into my fourteens, but not comfortably. Id love to get back into my size 12 clothes by my big birthday celebration on July, that's my aim.

4th dose for me today. I have decided i will take progress pictures each month and compare. I do weigh daily as i prefer to track fluctuations and obtain a better overall view. Well done on everyones losses so far

I did, need to extract the golden dose for tomorrow night. I've gone with 2.5mg for next pen too. How are you doing?

Excellent! me too and yes 2.5 mg for next pen aswell 😀 only problem so far is constipation so trying all the remedies to avoid that!

Yeah, I'm struggling with constipation too! I took a fybogel the other day which helped a bit!

is there a video instruction about extracting the 5th dose with the syringe? do we put the needle on to do it, or just attach syring, and then put needle on that? Or has anyone managed to force the pen to give the golden dose? just trying to work out how organised I need to be. I see my supplier has given me the 0.4mm needles, so I will look for those to fit on syringe, but am quite scared about that whole needle syringe thing

If you are buying syringes, the standard 1ml insulin syringes come with needles fixed to them that you don’t need to attach or remove. You don’t attach anything to the Mounjaro pen. You uncap the 1ml syringe needle and then insert the needle into the red seal at the end of the pen. You then withdraw the medication. Next you hold the syringe vertically, and tap to remove larger air bubbles, then gently push those out until a tiny bit of liquid comes out. Then check how much liquid is in the syringe, and push out any that you don’t want to inject. A full dose from the pen is always 0.6ml. Then just inject as normal but using the syringe.

I would not suggest using syringes to extract the medication unless you understand the dosage and the method of extracting.

Suppression is really strong on day two of 5mg. I’ve literally had to force myself to eat, and I’m still 400 short of my deficit calorie intake. Anyone else feel like this? Seems a little extreme to only eat 800 calories a day. It’s probably even less than that as I didn’t finish the meal I made .
