Day 5, and I woke up feeling mildly hungry for the first time this week, although I drank a glass of water and it subsided again. I have been really tired the last couple of days at work, not sure if it is a side effect, lack of calories or this hideous period. I am going out for a work lunch today, at a pizza place, which isn't ideal, but I shall have a Caesar salad I think.

custardlover · 17/04/2026 08:34

Right - after one week I have lost 9lbs! I am gobsmacked. It was so easy; no side effects and felt like I was eating delicious, small meals. Second jab later today. I presume this will slow right down and a lot of that was water but still feeling thrilled!

MyGardenDaisies · 17/04/2026 08:43

@custardlover yey! Well done!

I am on a similar track, after 4 days -2.2kg, and feeling the same.
It has allowed me to eat intentionally and start to establish a high-protein diet with easy to repeat meals rather than eating reactively to emotions or cravings.

I still have felt appetite especially after strength training, but I never want to lose that completely. Otherwise, when I wean off, the difference would be too drastic.

This is brilliant! Such a boost to have a substantial loss at the beginning, even if it does slow down.
I had a sneaky day 5 weigh in this morning, as I used to weigh on a Friday, and I am 6.5 lbs down 😯. I have a lunch out and the weekend to contend with now, and presumably my appetite will come back a bit in the last two days, so hopefully I can sustain that until Sunday weigh on, which is jab day.
I regret not jabbing before the weekend now, I had a big important thing last weekend and was nervous of side effects so delayed, I wonder if I can change it going forward somehow?

didldidi · 17/04/2026 09:37

Anyone ordered their 2nd pen yet?

MessyNDepressy · 17/04/2026 10:33

Day 7 for me and weigh in day. I’ve lost 6.25 pounds! Really chuffed with that. I’m guessing a lot will be water weight but it’s a start! I’ll take my second jab this evening. I’ve not really had many side effects. I felt a bit nauseous for two days after but nothing that stopped me going about my day to day life. Suppression seemed to start wearing off a little for me around Tuesday evening when I had a small binge but I got back on track and stuck to my deficit on Wednesday and Thursday. I still have an appetite but nowhere near what it was before.

MyGardenDaisies · 17/04/2026 10:44

I am planning to stay on 2.5mg unless weight loss goes below 0.5kg/week for 2 weeks in a row.

I still have 3 doses of this 1st pen to take, but thinking I’ll order with another provider to use a discount code when I’m in week 3. Just in case they take long or reject me for some reason.
I am planning to swap from Boots to MedExpress to keep costs down, and the to someone else for 3rd pen and so on.

custardlover · 17/04/2026 11:01

Hooray to all the losers! What a boost!

A friend of mine has changed her days over time just due to holidays / travel getting in the way

Nugg · 17/04/2026 13:38

Hello all. I have my consultation on Monday for MJ. Want to lose around 25kg ideally! No idea what to expect!

I took my first dose last thursday evening, this week i took it thursday am, next week i am going to take it wednesday evening and then week after wed am as i want to change my day, i dont think it would matter too much it i did it a whole day early, but im doing it slowly

ScreamingDelight · 17/04/2026 15:49

1st weigh day for me and i am down 4.2lbs!

no side effects at all, no appetite as such but i can still eat and i am making sure i hit at least 25g fibre a day and 100g protein along with my calorie goal.

NeedSleepNowPls · 17/04/2026 16:12

@ScreamingDelight that's a great loss, well done!

Can I ask how you're calculating how much protein/fibre you need?

I did my first pen last night and was starving this morning so had a toastie for breakfast/lunch (unprepared and out shopping) at 11am and have felt so full since I don't know if I'll eat dinner until way later! So so excited to not want/need food as much already, I thought it'd take way longer to take effect

I think 25g fibre is the minimum recommended amount for adults, with protein i seen a post about taking your ideal weight in kg and multiplying it by 1.2, is 96g for me but i always had 100g in my head as a figure I would go by. Its achievable for me and i want to try and minimise muscle loss. With calories, use a tdee calculator and subtract 500. I know from previous experience roughly what calories i need. I also suffer with hypothyroidism, so my metabolism is naturally slower.

thinkofsomethingdifferent · 17/04/2026 17:04

I’ve managed to get the golden dose out of my 2.5 so I’m going to take that on Monday rather than going up to the 5. Given I still can’t eat very much, I think that’s the best option even though my weightloss isn’t as much as I’d hoped.

RosieSpring · 17/04/2026 19:17

Hi starting tomorrow so would like to join this April group. ☺️
Really encouraging seeing posts here.
Starting weight 12.7 BMI 30
Dinners and savoury foods are my downfall.Huge portions. Also wine, I've seen a lot of people on MN saying they stopped drinking too much, has anyone here noticed a difference?

pomegranatepie · 17/04/2026 19:59

I went to the pub this evening, and only managed to sip about a quarter of a pint of beer, incredibly slowly over two hours. Normally it would slip down far too easily, and I'd be a couple of pints in and have eaten tons of crisps. It's the only bit of booze I have had all week, I just haven't fancied it.

Definetelynotanathlete · 17/04/2026 22:10

Hi everyone, I’m starting on MJ tomorrow! I need to loose about 2st I acquired through snacking and wine drinking🫣.
Someone mentioned that you can start with a lower dose. How do you do that? I’m thinking doing 1.25mg for couple of weeks and then go to 2.5mg. Just to see how the side effects are. I’m excited but scared about the side effects as my work is so full on atm

Wow that's great pomegranatepie

I have found it very hard to eat anything today. No side effects at all I just… don’t want to. Have just come in from the theatre and would usually want to either grab a post-show dinner somewhere or make cheese on toast but I have no hunger at all (and have not eaten since 12). I will have a couple of oatcakes and cottage cheese / humous as I very much want to keep my protein up! But what an unexpected reality.

MyGardenDaisies · 18/04/2026 06:52

Morning!

its day 6 of first jab and after 5 full days it’s -2.8kg!
It’s crazy how inflamed my body must be from eating high carb before, and now with 100g protein and caloric deficit I have been having much less carbs.
Mounjaro so far seems a great tool allow me the headspace to do this with ease.
definitely going to stick to high protein and high water intake once I come off it!

Thesehills · 18/04/2026 08:01

Week one done. Jabbing today.
7lbs down. (I've around 2.5 stone to lose). Water weight I know but never the less I'm thrilled.
No side effects, just been more thirsty so had lots of water, feeling less bloated and seem to have had more energy. The suppression was almost immediate too. Really happy.

Well done to everyone.

Changingplace · 18/04/2026 08:51

Hey all checking in as I’ve just ordered my first dose so will be starting as soon as it arrives :)

Rainboat · 18/04/2026 09:31

Jab 3 today, lost 3.6 kg! Very happy until now. I’m on 2.5 mj, can I start 5mg after the 4th jab or do I still need to stay on 2.5mg?
