Wegovy or mounjaro? I’ve tried both but please help me decide

Tried mounjaro and wegovy last year, came off them as couldn’t afford the mounjaro after price hike and wegovy wasn’t doing much for me except making me feel really sick.

Recently tried wegovy again on the starter dose and feel it was like water, no side effects and no benefit at all.

Lost around 2 stone on mounjaro last year, could possibly stretch to a mounjaro with the discount codes for the starter dose.

wegovy would save me alot of money but as I say on the lowest dose I have felt nothing so far (I know it’s just the starter dose to get you used to it)

I would like to lose another 1.5 stone in the next 3 months.

I haven’t tried Wegovy but my friend is has been using it for 12 weeks and isn’t going to carry on because she isn’t seeing a benefit. She’s lost half a stone but thinks it’s down to dieting rather then wegovy making any difference.
1 have been taking Mounjaro for 15 weeks and have lost 2 and half stone with little effort. It’s a shame it’s so expensive because it’s an amazing drug really life changing.

I don’t think we can help you here! Responses to the meds seem to be so individual. WeGovy has been great for me - I’ve lost 14% of my body weight in four months, with limited side effects only when I have eaten too much or had too much fatty food.

I switched from mounjaro to wegovy after the price hike. I was on 12.5mg and moved to the highest dose of wegovy. I didn’t feel it had any effect to be honest, I went back to mounjaro and have continued to lose weight on that.

It is all going to depend on your individual response. I lost 9st on Mounjaro using 5mg pens for 6 weeks to deliver a partial dose making it very affordable. I never got suppression from Mounjaro but if I worked with it carefully it gave me a break from the food noise and cravings to stay in calorie deficit consistently.

But your response, expectations and budget may be very different to mine.

You also need to factor in taking a minimal maintenance dose for about a year or so after you’ve lost the weight, otherwise, it’s more likely to pile back straight back on again. So it’s definitely not a quick fix.

I’ve lost 19% of my body weight in just under seven months on wegovy. I’ve been putting in effort myself and exercising daily so it’s not been plain sailing but it definitely helps.

I’ve only got 3kg until my goal now (BMI 21.5 as I’m small framed) and hope to achieve it before the summer 😊
