No symptoms or suppression after dose increase?

So I had a rough time adjusting to 2.5mg lots of symptoms and nausea at the start (some vomiting, mostly high fat or alcohol induced!), I stayed on it for 2 months, had some mostly good suppression but it did start to settle and as I am impatient wanted to go up a dose. Weightloss has been downward trending but pretty slow. I was a little nervous to jump to 5mg due to the rough adjustment when I started so I only did 3.75mg 2 days ago. I’ve had no symptoms and my appetite just doesn’t feel much suppressed, snack cravings have really come back. Just wondering if others have experienced this. I normally had symptoms by this point 2 days post jab.

What symptoms are you expecting to have?

kiki8436 · 27/03/2026 16:02

I had a lot of nausea last time, especially if I hadn’t eaten for a little while, also headaches (but admittedly am in better hydration habits by now).

But mostly appetite suppression would be nice!

I suggest you see how you go throughout the week, but you probably should go up to 5mg. You've had at least 9 doses including a midway dose, so the jump to 5mg (where you could have been 5 or 6 weeks ago,) might be well tolerated now.

I understand the slow increase, I moved up in tiny increments myself, but I had superb suppression and good weight loss with minimal bad symptoms.

Hope it goes well.

Thank you, I was a bit hesitant to do 5mg next week with it being the long Easter weekend but like you say maybe it’ll be fine, I’m just a bit paranoid if I counted the clicks wrong 😂

You're well and truly used to the drug now so there is no guarantee you'll get side effects when you increase or if you do, that they will be as severe as when you started. I'd go up to 5 and see how you go.

So long as I still get the benefits for my IBS (which has all but disappeared), honestly I’m thinking of staying on it for that alone! Life changing!

I assume you took 45 clicks from a 5mg pen. Perhaps try 50, 55 or the full 60 clicks next time - if feeling brave!

I often went up just 1-3 clicks a week, rather than increasing by 2.5mg each month. This was enough for me to feel an increased suppression as needed without a sudden surge that could cause adverse symptoms. (I'm in maintenance now and reduced back down the dosage in a similar way.)

I did this with strict record keeping and a good grasp of the dosage calculation. If in any doubt with trying click-counting, ask for advice or stick with the schedule.

This is normal , it will go up and down along the way some weeks you will have SE and strong suppression, some weeks you will have no SE and Supression and some weeks you will either have it all or nothing . It depends where you are in your cycle (if you are still) and if your body is calling for something , saying this as I had 3 rounds of “injecting water” and twice where I woke at night starving in all 5 scenarios I had a “flush” (big loss) . Sometimes it’s your body adjusting .. check second dose of same dose and if same go up (especially without a loss) . It’s time to go up a dose when you plateau for 3 weeks or more …

@Bipaloss thank you that’s really helpful. I will weigh next injection day and see where I am.

@Twasasurprise yes I did, I’m assuming it’s quite difficult to do it wrong but I am doubting myself a tad ha! But as above I will see where I am injection day.
