Large red mark after injection

Has anyone experienced red marks after injecting?

As you can see in the photos I've had a large red mark come up after injection, it did it last week too. Any ideas why and how to stop it?

It's not sore or painful but doesn't looks great. My weight loss has also stalled in the past week so not sure if that's connected? I've been on Mounjaro since the end of Jan and have otherwise just had a small bruise after each injection.

Thanks!

It’s pretty common. I get it too. Mine gets really itchy. Drove me mad when it first started but it doesn’t last as long now.

Apparently letting the pen come up to room temperature before injecting helps avoid it for some.

I get this same red mark now and again, it does itch a bit but it’s usually gone within 2 days of taking the jab.

My partner gets it so now he is jabbed where it doesnt show, i tried all the variations, not swabbing, swabbing, making sure the site is dry different locations etc. i put it down to his thick skin 😂but anyways it goes after a couple of days. I dont get it and i do both of our jabs. i wouldnt worry about it

It’s common with all injections, take anti histamines, you are likely to have it for several months, getting worse, then it goes away and doesn’t come back.

Thanks - good to know it's nothing bad. I'll try letting the pen warm up and anti histamines. Thanks

Have you changed supplier and needle brand? Can sometimes cause issues.

Mounjaro2026 · 25/03/2026 19:40

No still with Bolt, and I don't think the needles look any different

I had that for months and now 11 months into my mounjaro journey, I don’t have it at all anymore.

I’ve had it the entire 8 months. It’s just part of the experience.
