Excess of Mounjaro. If I stop buying I will have to restart?

Hi there. I have an excess of pens of the moment (4) 15mg. They have accumulated as a result of buying more stock at the lower price, and using the magic dose with the aid of a syringe.Currently buying from Simple pharmacy or Asda, depending who I have a voucher from. They all have good dates, and if I stop buying them and start to buy more in 4 months time I think they will make me start at the lowest dose again? I haven’t had much success lately and have put on about 10lbs. I think the cause of this is I have been prescribed Sertraline and it has increased my appetite greatly, almost working against the Mounjaro. Should I buy another pen this month? If I go down to 12.5 or 10 will it have much effect? It is a lot cheaper

It’s not clear from your post if you’re still actively trying to lose weight or are you in the maintenance phase? If you can provide a bit more info, maybe we can give you some helpful suggestions for tackling your slight gain?

I don’t think you’d have a problem buying a higher dose later if you have a break from purchasing pens. Take a photo now of your current pen boxes lined up showing the dose and then you’ll be able to explain that you bulk bought them when on offer previously.

I bought 5 pens last year before the price increase. I took photos of the labels and sent them to my provider who were happy with that. Some of the pens were from them but 2 were from other suppliers.

I managed a small stockpile after the price increase which I've just finished so hadn't ordered for 5 months. I was made to restart at 2.5mg by Ouskh. The complication was my BMI dropped too low for MedExpress who I had been with, I moved to Ouskh and despite explaining my stockpile when I joined them (and when I went to order 5 months later) and showing my order history they said they couldn't prove I'd been taking it! I think it is very much down to prescriber discretion.

It is likely you will need to ask your pharmacy, but even then there is no guarantee you will be prescribed 15mg again after a significant order gap, it will all depend on the prescriber (most are independent prescribers and each personally accountable for their own clinical decisions).

Oushk are currently rejecting some higher dose orders where customers ordered in August say 4 pens due to price hike (which should have covered Sep, Oct, Nov, Dec) and are only ordering again now, but can’t evidence with dates on pharmacy labels the 2-3 missing months.

I had a problem with Ashcroft Pharmacy. I had an extra 15mg in hand so used that and, despite providing order history, their pharmacist was very difficult and insisted on issuing 12.5mg ( I don't know if she thought I was using a lower dose than intended and couldn't understand her rationale but accepted as I needed a pen)
I will not use them again though as she replied to the query a couple of minutes before their cut-off time on two occasions which then delayed it by an extra day each time. It's a shame as they used to be good "pre-pendemic"

I bought 4 pens just before the price increase. I wrote on each box the start date and saved them. When I restarted I sent a photo of my latest box and they queried it so I sent a photo of the last few boxes (some of which have the same issue date). My new prescription was issued no problem.

I'm going through this right now with Oushk. I was worried it might happen so booked a consult with them in November. Was told to photograph my stash with a date and upload which I did. Had a maintenance consult last week as now at goal and on last pen. Have just started to stretch to 8-9 days. Pharmacist told me not to do this but to order a 12.5mg to use weekly. I've just had this order refused and been offered 2.5mg. I can evidence every pen I've bought and show all dates I've injected. all numbers tally obviously. Really hoping they change their mind.

I have 4 x 15mg pens and I'm currently taking 6.25mg out of a 12.5mg pen, so I won't finish these pens until the end of the year.

I plan on ordering a 2.5mg pen 6 weeks before the pens finish and then a 5mg 4 weeks later, which will at least give me 7.5mg. Although, I'm hoping that I will be on a lower dose by then

So frustrating. Others have suggested swift doctor as much more understanding. I suspect now Hira isn't prescribing her team aren't as open minded or flexible as she is. I was only ever on 5mg so I accept 2.5 and my last order was approved for 5 so I'm ok.
