I am curious about your experiences with the weekly losses you expected and the reality, also what are you happy to lose and feel its still working.

I am fluctuate with sometimes having no loss for weeks and then a big loss the next week, but currently average 2.3lbs.

My weekly average is 1.4, I’ve been on it since May. I’m happy with that, it mostly ticks along at a pound a week then I have a whoosh and lose 3.

Yes it was a stiff learning curving learning about the wooshes, now saves me from getting disappointed.

It varied for me -

BMI 45 to BMI 35 averaged 2.3lbs a week (over 6 months)
BMI 35 to BMI 30 averaged 1.5lbs a week (over 5 months)
BMI 30 to BMI 25 around 1lb a week (over 7 months)

I remember around BMI 35-ish switching from elation, at what was a 4st loss at the time, to feeling a bit of concern for a couple of months about the speed / consistent losses every week for so long. I felt more comfortable when it started to slow down a bit.

I am now working on maintaining just under BMI 25 for the last 3 months, but the trend is losing an average 0.3lbs a week.

This is good to read. I've lost 4lb then 3lb in the first two weeks. I know it will slow but I hope it will continue and be consistent at least.

According to the ‘happy scale’ app, my first 6 months saw weekly average losses of 2 - 2.5 lbs a week
Next 6 months saw weekly average losses of 1.5 - 1.7 lbs a week
Last six months have averaged out at 1.2 - 1.4 lbs a week
At goal now but there’s a part of me that still wants to see a loss but that’s a different problem!

I’ve lost 9lb in 7 weeks and a bit disappointed (especially as it’s now averaging 0.5lb a fortnight) I need to up my dose to 5mg but nervous to as have struggled with symptoms. Need to decide by the weekend.

I lost much more each week than I expected. I’ve just worked out my average and over 49 weeks it was 3.8lbs per week. I lost a total of 13.5 stone, am in maintenance now and have lost a few more pounds since then while trying to balance my dose and my calories.

Average of 1.6lbs a week making 53lbs in 7.5 months. Slower from my BMI going under 30.

@MummyInTheNecropolis how many calories a day were you eating while in your losing stage? I am so envious!

It went up and down depending on the level of suppression, but I’d say I probably averaged around 1200 a day, though there were days I really struggled to get up to 1000. I’m aiming for 1800 now in maintenance but am often under that.

from what i have read research wise, its normal to have some annoying or hard side effects when moving up , but as long as by say day 3 on the 1st or 2nd jab on new dosage then its ok. in reality some side effects can show its being effective to the right level. I have a rough going at first when i moved to 7.5 and me and my partner stayed on that dose 2 months (we moved up normally on others) . so feeling nauseous the 1st 24 hours i now expect but i also space them out for an extra day , will move up to 10 and hopefully not as rough as 7.5 was for me. so go for it

I did one month on 2.5, one month on 5 and then about 6 months on 7.5 before going up to 10. I never went any higher than 10. After Christmas when I’d hit target I went back down to 7.5 for 2 months, I’m now on 5 and planning to move down to 2.5 once I’ve finished this pen but I’m currently only injecting every 2 weeks.

Weight loss depends a lot on your start weight. You normally lose more with a highest start weight and then it tapers off when you start moving into the overweight BMI rating.

In general 1-2lbs per week is seen as healthy weight loss, it means you often have less side effects like hair loss and you are losing fat not muscles as well.

I have weeks better I'm losing just half a pound and then the next week I'm losing 2lbs or a bit more. It often really depends what I'm eating and how much my liquid intake is.
