2.5mg pen / taking more?

Im a bit baffled by clicks etc although I do have a chart i have saved which shows how many clicks you need for each dose you want. My question is really about taking more from a 2.5mg pen, can I do this and will it work. Logically if o took more calpol my dose would be higher but for some reason I can’t match that to MJ. I want to take 3.5mg rather than 2.5mg if possible.

Obviously it’s up to you, but I’m wondering what your rationale is as most people take a smaller dose from a bigger dose pen, rather than increase the dose on a smaller dose pen, because it’s more cost effective that way.

So it will be cheaper to buy a 5mg pen and then take 42 clicks for 3.5mg.

Are you trying to increase your dose slowly before moving up to a 5mg pen? Lots of us have done this.

I’ve been on MJ for over 6 months now and upped my dose to 3mg using an 5mg pen, about 4 months in. (36 clicks)

On a 5mg pen every 12 clicks = 1mg.

I took a higher dose from a 2.5mg pen because I'd ordered it before I decided that actually I needed to move up a dose. I did 3.75mg as a halfway point between 2.5mg and 5mg, and to answer the OP I did a normal dose then an additional 30 clicks and injected again. You can also use an insulin needle and draw up the required amount - 3.5mg would be 0.84mls which is quite difficult to get exact on the syringe, 3.75mg would be 0.9mls which is easier.

I have 3 pens to use before ordering 5mg but I’m ready to step up a bit now, in fact i really need to.

Thank you, that’s exactly what I want to do. Not with a syringe though I’m happy to just use the click method to count rather than draw it out.

Was there a notable difference when you went from 2.5mg to the 3.75mg?

Definitely. I'd been on 2.5mg for 14 weeks and the effects had worn off quite gradually, so it took me a while to notice that I was getting less suppression/more food noise. As soon as I went up to 3.75mg I found an immediate improvement. I stayed on that for about another 10 weeks then went to 5mg after Christmas as I needed a boost to get me back on track quickly. Still on 5mg now, and it is still working well.

Thats how I am feeling now the effects had got less and less on 2.5mg and I find myself able to eat so much now. I am happy with around 1700 calories and losing around half a pound a week (happy to lose slowly now after fast initial loss) but when I caught myself eating a whole Easter egg the other day I realised I do need to up the dose
