Tips on lessening bingo wing loose skin with weight training

So with the sun out, my thoughts are turning to summer clothes - specifically all the lovely strappy and cap sleeve tops and dresses I can now liberate from storage or which are calling to me from shops and Vinted . . .

I've started doing a 15-minute Caroline Girvan weights video with 4kg weights a couple of times a week - this is on top of four half-hour Pilates/basic Calisthenics home workouts a week which usually involve a small amount of armwork with press ups/planks.

Is this enough to start building some muscle in my upper arms to alleviate some of the crepiness, or do I need to up it drastically? If so, to how much?

I know everyone's different, that the loose skin will tighten by itself but probably never resolve. But I'd like to know if I'm doing enough to help things on their way . . .

You need to do reps more than a couple of times a week. I think every other day with a mind to increasing the weight when you get to muscle exhaustion? It will take commitment, time, and protein.

I’m 56 and lifting 8/10 kg weights 3 times a week and an arm heavy hour long Pilates class once a week, and lots of gardening. That’s made a difference. You need heavier and more…

Most folks focus on their biceps. You need to ensure you also build your triceps. The muscles at the back of your arms, this will stop or reduce your bingo wings and reduce any crepyness.

I did weights every day and after 6 months my bingo wings have hugely improved!

Thanks all - will definitely up frequency and weights then! If I remember, I'll try and post again at the end of summer to say how I got on

remember that for it to be effective, you really have to struggle to do the last 2-3 reps (usually out of 10 or 12).

caroline has a 20 shoulder and triceps workout that is a killer.
