I’m on week 3 2.5mg restart and today I ate much more lunch than I normally would- a prawn salad, small bag jerky, latte from Costa.
and now I’m stuck on the loo with tummy pain and runs. I wouldn’t have thought these foods would have been a problem but boy am I paying a price for something.
please tel me it will go soon and not to jack it all in. I need some support to work on my resilience.

I’ve not been eating very much each day but it seems ok for me as I’m only losing couple pound a week. My resting calories are pretty low so I do need to drop sub 1000 a day to lose weight.
I don’t know if it’s all the milk from the latte, or the jerky, or maybe just having those three things all in one go which is more than normal

What did you eat yesterday?

WeAllHaveWings · 25/02/2026 17:27

If you haven't had similar GI issues since starting, while it could be one of those foods is not GLP1 friendly for you, it could also be you've just had a bad prawn (we've all been there before Mounjaro existed!)

Make sure you stay hydrated, avoid caffeine, keep food light, take Imodium if you feel you need it.

Once it passes, avoid those foods for a couple of days to settle down, then try them again individually and see if they trigger anything.

I got the runs once before, the day after eating something spicy, and swore never again to eat spicy food on mj.

Thank you, this is good advice.

When did you jab? I got side effects of the runs 48 hours after I went up a dose. Could it be that or could it just be a dodgy prawn?

ToriMounj · 25/02/2026 19:41

Jab was Thursday so I don’t think so.
prawn was just a prawn salad meal deal so I doubt it. And was just after I’d eaten so feels too soon.
I did take a multivitamin with probiotic in this morning but I wouldn’t think that would be it.
it’s annoying not knowing what has caused it because id like to know to avoid it

Oh it’s hard to know then isn’t it! Can just be bad luck sometimes. Hope you feel better tomorrow.

Op watch your cal intake, you need to eat enough protein and protect muscle, otherwise you will be losing muscle as well as fat, and a lot of muscle.

this has two impacts.

firstly, muscle is active, fat is inactive. Which means muscle burns cals, even at rest, if you reduce it your bmr reduces and it will be nearly impossible for you to maintain the weight if you come off the drugs, you will need to consume so little.

your appearance, you won’t like what you see when you hit goal. You will look like a melted candle with a flat arse. Parts of you you wish to shrink will not, ie stomach, and other parts, like your boobs, will be saggy and empty looking.

this journey is about way more than the number on the scales.
