EU approves higher wegovy dose

I see in the news that following successful trials, the EU has approved a higher dose of wegovy for weight loss. It will now be possible to prescribe 7.2mg rather than the current maximum of 2.4mg. This will be a weekly dose, taken by three 2.4mg dose injections.
I wonder if the UK follows suit.

7.2 has already been approved for use in the UK and several providers offer it as a bundle of three pens…

It was approved a while ago, and on sale.

If you look at igovy.co.uk you will see novo Nordisk are already allowing some pharmacies to do this.

Pharmacies have agreed with novo to monitor patients ordering patterns so they don’t use it as a way to get 3 x 2.4mg pens cheaply. They will eventually release a 7.2mg pen (I think my pharmacy said around July time)

My pharmacy already offers 7.2mg

I clearly need to get with the programme!
