Phentermine

Controversial I know.

I am aware it is not allowed anymore and not prescribed by NHS. However some CQC registered clinics are legally allowed to prescribe it off license.

Can anyone recommend an above board legal clinic that prescribe phentermine?

Also has anyone successfully used phentermine?

Thank you!

My dad used it, it caused heart problems.

I used it 25 years ago and lost about 25 pounds. I had no issues with it.

Can I ask why you’d consider this, they found 30 percent of people developed faulty heart valves and it can only be prescribed for a short period.

drugs like wegovy or mounjaro are very safe, I’d recommend those, unless there is a reason you can’t take them,

Why would you, when semaglutide and tirzepatide exist?

I can’t take GLP 1s unfortunately due to a history of acute pancreatitis.

I’m contraindicated with a history of acute pancreatitis.

But why would you want phentermine, that’s a really dodgy drug with huge risk of side effects.

i understand the desire to lose weight, and the inability to do so, it’s why we are all on glp’s, but that’s a whole different animal to what you’re suggesting.

Isn’t phentermine just speed?

PoundsLost · 25/02/2026 10:45

I have used it to help with hunger on the 5:2 diet for my fast days before MJ.

I did initally have some high blood pressure so was prescribed something called something like Diethylpropion (may have to check and edit) which was fine but Phentermine kills the appetite.

i didn’t want to take it every day as I thought it might mess with my sleep - and I would never remember it daily either - so as an appetite suppressant for 2 days a week it was fine. I lost about a pound a week - then didn’t need it as got into the right habits to do 5:2 on my own. Til it became 7:0 and the weight went back on..

PoundsLost · 25/02/2026 10:47

Oh - and I got it from a clinic in London called WeightMedics. Don’t know if they’re still going!

It’s not actually speed, but it is a stimulant and similar, you can feel high after taking it. As said it was withdrawn from what I understand and now only available for short periods due to the very high risk of heart valve damage.

Is that the stuff that made you thin and then gave you the energy to get the housework done?
