Different providers - are they all reliable?

Morning all,

I am coming up to my 3rd jab on Monday so I’m now thinking about my next pen.

I bought my first pen through Boots as wanted the security of a well known pharmacy. Looking ahead to price increases per dose, is there any benefit to remaining with Boots?

I have seen that Juniper is much cheaper as are other companies - are these reliable companies? Is the product the same?

Apologies if these Qs are very naive - I was quite anxious beginning this journey and have had a great first two weeks so def want to continue.

tia

The product will be exactly the same from any registered pharmacy. They are variable in terms of their service so it's worth checking reviews on trust pilot or similar. I've tried a couple and found them fine. Just make sure you order with enough time to deal with any delays or issues

The medication is the same wherever you get your prescription from. Wegovy is only manufactured by Novo Nordisk and Mounjaro is only manufactured by Eli Lilly.

Any pharmacy that is GPhC registered should be reliable, obviously customer satisfaction may vary a bit as you can see via their Trust Pilot reviews.

Just be aware that some pharmacies, like Juniper, operate a subscription model where you will be automatically charged for the next 4 weeks unless you actively pause or cancel. So just be aware of what you are signing up for and how/when to cancel if you don’t want to stick with them.

Ok great, thank you both!

Assuming you’re still getting some suppression there’s no need to increase the pen dose each month. Many of us stay on the lower doses for months without moving beyond 5mg, or even permanently staying on 2.5mg in some cases.

Avoid boots - massively overpriced and exploiting people’s fears and need to use a known name to justify high mark up. I would also avoid juniper, subscription model and after first order overpriced, but if you do use them be really careful to cancel the subscription immediately.

get onto monj.co.uk. Every supplier there is GPhC registered, legal and provides the exact same medicine. Customer service does vary through so read trustpilot. you don’t need the supposed ‘support’ which from most is just bots and generic info pages/apps - this board and Reddit MounjaroUK sub are full of wonderful knowledge and support.

I've moved around to get deals. Have used Chemist4u, pharmacy2u, Weprescribe, medexpress and swift doctor with no issues. Others I would use based on others’ experience if they have decent price deal - Pharmulous, medicine marketplace, voy, oushk. Ones I might risk if very good price but have some bad reviews for service - IQ doctor, bolt/fella, get a drip, pill sorted.

Thank you!
that’s really helpful. I hadn’t realised that you could move each month depending on the price - a great tip! Thank you!! 🙏🏻

I've moved every month, you just need a photo of your pen box with the prescription label on it showing the date and dosage and your name.

As mentioned above www.monj.co.uk is the best site with good information and advice on it
