Bollocks. Another kg gained. What is going on? ( I know, I must be eating too many calories, but jesus, a kilos worth?)

BestDIL · 08/04/2026 07:09

Oh @kittykarateI know how you feel. I’m a daily weigher and can do that in a day! What dose are you in now? Do you need to go up?

OP posts:
kittykarate · 08/04/2026 09:34

I am on 1mg Wegovy - I was foolishly thinking about reducing the dose as I'm at my personal target. Anyways, brain back in gear, hot cross buns all gone, subscription back at 1mg and lets see how things go.

BestDIL · 08/04/2026 16:28

I’m maintaining too but only just and I’m on 2.4mg. I’m quite worried about dropping down as it appears that my brain hasn’t learnt anything from the last 16 months!!

Reginaphalangeeeee · 09/04/2026 23:23

@BestDIL & @kittykarate sorry to hear maintaining struggles. I seem to be maintaining despite trying to loose.
Chocolate in our house made things tricky this week!
I have upped exercise but not enough to enable a loss.

You will find your rhythm. Have you done a calorie check and BMR etc to get in site ?

BestDIL · 10/04/2026 10:22

Thanks @Reginaphalangeeeee this is all on me. I know I am over on calories so just need to have a good talk with myself. I do need to exercise but absolutely hate it. I try and get out with the dog most days but when it’s cold and wet I just like to stay tucked up at home. The better weather will help as I’ll switch to salads for meals which will help loads.

OP posts:
kittykarate · 10/04/2026 12:23

It's also definitely all on me - a mixture of 'just one won't hurt', a little step down on exercise due to traveling with work, easter etc. I still can't make it add up to a kilo on basic energy in/out calculations, but the human body is a mysterious beast.

I've been eating what Mr Kitty calls my "Fibrous gruel" (oat and chia seed pudding) to try and get my innards behaving more normally and that seems to have helped a bit.

BestDIL · 10/04/2026 17:18

@kittykarate. Loving the reference to Mr Kitty! Definitely getting the innards working helps to move things along. I can tell when I need to up the fibre!!!

OP posts:
kittykarate · 14/04/2026 14:02

So a week later, and 0.9 kg down. The human body is a mysterious thing. Still the wrong side of 60kg, but still, much improved.

I went rollerskating the other weekend - I discovered I can go places in straight lines, but can't skate round corners!

Reginaphalangeeeee · 23/04/2026 12:57

How are things now ladies @BestDIL and @kittykarate

is anyone else still on this chat anymore or all moved on?

kittykarate · 23/04/2026 13:30

Hello hello! I'm still reading here, but don't have a lot of stuff to say - still trying to get myself to my weight of a few weeks ago of 59.X kg. Still on 1mg Wegovy with curely. The bump in weight was coming off steady though but the past week I've probably self sabotaged as I've basically been eating MrKitty's leftover birthday cake for lunch each day.

Did another rollerskating session - fell over 3 times but that was all my over ambition. Last chance at the 'cheap' place this weekend - the school hall gets used for exams all summer. I'm not up for skating outside, I don't really have the skills to cope with random surfaces.

The tech company where I work is likely to be making me redundant next week. That's going to be a diet challenge.

BestDIL · 23/04/2026 16:03

@Reginaphalangeeeee I'm still here too. How are you doing?

Gained 1lb this week so I am 3lbs over target. Need to get a grip and lose it! I'm still on 2.4mg Wegovy and have just requested a new pen of the same again. I honestly can't see me going down the doses anytime soon and seriously considering a low dose of Mounjaro for maintenance rather than Wegovy.

The sweet tooth that had gone is now back with a vengence and whilst I am not guzzling bags and bags of haribos, I am eating more than I should.

I have just found out that I have osteoporosis in my spine - this is the second time - so meds for the next 3-5 years and weight bearing and muscle strengthening exercises. I'm only 60 but had an early menopause in my late 30's so that's probably the issue but got to have a shit load of blood tests to rule other more sinister stuff out. Reading the DEXA scan results is like looking at one from an 80yr old!!

@kittykarate sorry to hear that you might be being made redundant, the same thing happened to me 10 years ago and I was devastated at the time but I managed to pick up 3 small part time jobs which I can do from home. Unfortunately, that's when a good proportion of my weight was gained. I now and try to take a walk in the morning and at lunchtime and not hole up in my office all day but it's hard as I lose track of time.

OP posts:
Reginaphalangeeeee · 23/04/2026 20:12

@kittykarate I am sorry about potential redundancy. That sucks! Is your job role something adaptable that will make it easy to find another job?

@BestDILsorry to hear about Osteoporosis! The weight loss as positive as it is, is the one thing that doesn’t help osteoporosis! Basically be overweight protects your bones. Hope you get meds sorted soon and avoid any spinal fractures.

im doing ok. Weight loss slow the last few months on 10mg MJ. Making very concerted effort and when I cleaner, I crave bad stuff less. The more I eat (Easter example) the more I want to!
think it’s looking like a 1Kg loss this week which would be fab after a 1 month stall!
Also think starting HRT may have affected fluid balance so maybe that is righting its self now

kittykarate · 24/04/2026 08:50

I'm not sure how I feel about the redundancy. I do have some transferrable skills, but I've been doing the same job for 25 years... I'm in the 'bit young to retire' age bracket, but i could theoretically make it work, and MrKitty was planning on retiring this year. (He's a little older).

It's just the change that is freaking me out.

BestDIL · 14/05/2026 21:41

Hi everyone. Just checking in. How are you all doing? I’m still maintaining. I set my goal as 11st and am using Shotsy which in maintenance allows 5lb over and under and although I have been over 11st pretty much since getting to target I’m pleased to say that I have kept under the 5lb limit. Today was check in and I was 11st 2.4lbs.

thinking of getting a couple of months of 7.2mg, not to use as 7.2mg but to build up stock as it works out at about £59 per pen. I’m on the founding member pricing.

Reginaphalangeeeee · 14/05/2026 23:03

Hi @BestDIL great to hear you are doing so well maintaining.
I have a lot to loose still but had a good month (3kg loss).
still such a long way to go though.

Amandashazzy · 15/05/2026 06:55

@BestDIL well done on maintaining thats good to here . Am on a plateau it seems at moment but am away on holiday for a week next week so no doubt will have a wee gain but going try up my game a bit when am back 😀 still want to loose 2.5 stone or so.
I dont know why ive had to create new user name ats why I haven't posted for a bit . (Shazzabelle)

BestDIL · 29/05/2026 12:11

Happy Friday everyone

OP posts:
Reginaphalangeeeee · 06/06/2026 23:10

Wahhhhhh new pen style arrived. I feel
cheated having enjoyed the golden
dose for so long.
Amyone know when old style pen stock is?

BestDIL · 07/06/2026 08:26

@Reginaphalangeeeeeoh no!!! I wondered when that would happen. I suppose you’ve gotten used to a pen lasting 5 weeks!! Don’t get that with Wegovy - mind you W prices nowhere near M. Nearly fell off my chair the other day. My sis is paying £289 a month for 10mg. I’m paying £179 for 7.2mg which I’m using as 2.4mg so £60 a pen!

OP posts:
Reginaphalangeeeee · 07/06/2026 23:52

Sadly yes! Though £239 12.5 for me & had really good deals with Numan up to now.
