Mounjaro- Periods

I started Mounjaro 4 weeks ago and for two of these weeks I've been either spotting or had a full on period. It seemed to disappear the beginning of this week for about 2 days then it's come back again as a period when i only finished my other period maybe a week ago, then since then have had spotting.

I currently take the pill and had heard that it can affect that which i understand but has anyone got any positive experiences? I don't want to be stuck spotting or on a period the whole time I'm using Mounjaro 😩 I know i may have some of this but didn't expect it to be for so long at a time.

If you’re on the pill Mounjaro can cause absorption issues so it’s likely that is the reason for the spotting. I hope you’re using condoms as well.

What pill are you on?

I'm not sure how long your period has been

are you saying it started a week after it finished?

But you should speak to your provider - I imagine they tell you to see a doctor

I was on this and I wish I'd never tried it

If you have unexpected bleeding, you should always get it checked out.

There should be info on the leaflet that came with the pen about Mounjaro possibly affecting the absorption of the pill. I know that some people have switched to other non-pill based hormonal contraception to avoid issues. I would make an appointment with your GP to see if you can change or adjust your contraception.

Can I ask, why do you wish you'd never tried it?
