Wegovy Pen Recycling

Hi all,

I only just found this out so thought I’d share for anybody who doesn’t know.

You can send your Wegovy pens off to be recycled. They do not need to go in a sharps bin. Only the needles need to go in the sharps bin.

So one sharps bin should last ages as the needles are tiny.

It’s called Pen Cycle, photos attached. They get sent back to Novo Nordisk so there may well be similar for Mounjaro but I’m not sure what it is.

If you google Pen Cycle and put in your address they will send you boxes.

I’ve just put my 6 pens (that I managed to very carefully remove from sharps bin) in the box and there’s still space for more.

That’s interesting, I wonder if there is similar scheme for MJ, I would use it if there was.
I’ve never put my used pens into the sharps bin usually pin them in household waste, only put needles into the sharps bin.

@Itscoldouthereyes, it seems obvious now that the whole pen doesn’t need to go in the sharps bin! But I was new to the whole thing and for some reason just put the whole pen in.

Glad I am now managing to recycle them.

I had a quick Google and didn’t see anything similar for MJ, hopefully there will be soon.

@blondebombsite13 Thank you for looking, it’s a shame there isn’t one for MJ, I hate throwing things into general rubbish, I try to recycle as much as I can.
