Has anyone managed to shrink their bust?

I've been on MJ for 5 months, have gone down from 18.5 to 15 stone but my 40hh bra size is not shrinking at the same rate as the rest of me.

For anyone who's been on this journey longer with a similar figure, did yours catch up? Is there anything I can do or do I just need to be patient? I can't afford a breast reduction.

I had ti lose considerable weight before mine shrunk, my stomach and thighs, back side, arms, all slimmed down first. I’d say be patient. You will reduce to whay you were before the weight, albeit a different shape. However I’d check you’re wearing thr right bra size and were at your top weight.

Willowy2 · 12/02/2026 06:16

Yes! But it was the last thing to go and also the result of alot of chest work in the gym. I have no idea what size I was as I never wore proper bras but they were huge. Now they are tiny and I love them! It's been down to body recomposition and losing fat and gaining muscle which made the difference.

MJalltheway · 12/02/2026 06:20

A tiny bit, not much. But they were always big before I got fat so 🤷🏻‍♀️ I was a 36GG (sometimes 38) when I started at 15.5 stone. I'm just under 11 stone now and 32GG so effectively down 2 cup sizes. My plan is to have a reduction once I've stuck at target weight for a full year.

BlonderThanYou · 12/02/2026 06:23

Mine shrunk but it took a long time and more weight loss. I also started wearing sports bras which give a reduced look.

namechange0998776554799000 · 12/02/2026 07:09

Ok thank you all, at least this gives me some hope that they might eventually catch up! Mine were always huge anyway but it's more noticeable in this phase where the rest of me is rapidly shrinking. I'll just keep carrying on.

Yes, I've gone from a 36JJ to a 32H, so far. The band size went down and the cup size is taking longer to go down, but is now getting there slowly.

This is a really good post, chest work has meant I now have small boobs with nipples facing forward instead of down 😆 I never thought they would “unsag” after losing so much weight. And yes they only got much smaller in the last few stone, it’s so nice to not have a sticky out chest that clothes hang off. It’ll come off OP

Sweetiedarling7 · 12/02/2026 08:06

The band size yes massively so but cup size not at all.
I don’t think they ever will.

That is down two band sizes but the cup size is the same. Unless it’s a typo?

FrothyCothy · 12/02/2026 08:09

It seems to be the only place I have lost any weight, 5 weeks in on WLI!

ShrankLastWinter · 12/02/2026 08:10

Much smaller. I’m a bit sad about it. A bit smaller was good, but now at BMI 23.8 they’re small.

welcometothe10pigpigpen · 12/02/2026 08:21

Yes! I had 34 GG when I fist started, and now I’m a 30DD. They’ve shrunk considerably. They don’t look good out of a bra (think tennis ball in a sock), but in happier that they fit into clothes better and make me look less “bulky”.
I have been on WLI for about 19 months. I don’t think there was a particular time where it just happened, I think it just happened slowly. Hang on in there!

But cup size isn't absolute - it's relative to band size so eg a 32D would be smaller than a 36D.

In losing 80lbs I've gone down from 42E to 38D and the difference feels massive now both visually and in terms of a literal weight off my shoulders. It definitely took a while before I felt like I needed to get new bras.

JabbaJibba · 12/02/2026 09:04

Started last March at a 42DD and now 36E, hoping the cup size doesn't go up anymore, I have bought so many bras in the last 11 months as just haven't been able to get the sizing right and what to be at target before getting a proper measure.

LaurieFairyCake · 12/02/2026 09:31

Will definitely catch up, it’s all fat. It was my second to last thing to go, my butt was the last.
i went from a 34 J or K to a 28 E (tiny boobs!)

Gollumscat · 12/02/2026 09:39

One of my regrets (amongst saggy skin, sunken eyes, flat arse, massive hair loss) is my tits going from a decent 36 DD to a pathetic 30B. I wish I could have lost the weight but kept them, not to be as they are made of fat mostly aren't they, so they disappeared.

maddiemookins16mum · 12/02/2026 10:32

I was a 40 E, now a 36 C. 4 stone 3lb loss in 9 months. Swimming has really helped.

MooBaggage · 12/02/2026 10:42

yep - I've always had HUGE boobs, which I've hated. I've lost 94lbs and they're still the biggest bit of me, but clothes wise I've gone from a size 26 on top due to boobs, to a size 16-18, which is hugely pleasing. My bottom half is now a 14 - 16. The weight came off my bum and legs first, then waist and now slowly, slowly the boobs. I've got about 30lbs more to get to a BMI of 24 and imagine I'll end up being a size 14 on top and 12 on the bottom - hopefully! The boobs will always be bigger than the rest of me, but hopefully less ridiculously big....

Yes! I do loads of chest work in the gym and I have teeny tiny boobs and I love them! I still can't go braless as I am 44 and have breastfed x3 babies but I don't care. The chest work has definitely improved their saggyness and I'm happy. Chest work is a huge focus in my gym routine, honestly I'd be happy if they disspeared completely as my breasts aren't really part of my identity.

Sadly it seems to always be a choice between the two, as it’s rare to have big boobs and be slim, big curvy bum and be slim, or have a slim body and wrinkle free face. I guess it’s why people with money/celebs are slim but most have boob jobs, bum implants and tweakments

Exactly, I’m the same. I was so surprised as I didn’t think there were any muscles above the boobs that would pull them up 🤣

I do a whole chest work out which includes bench press on a slight incline using 10kgs with a slow lower and a slight hold at the bottom, 3 to 4 sets. Then I do the same with a pulse for 3 sets. Then I do single arm bench press with 10kg for 3 sets each side. I then do floor bench press using 12kg. (I'm working up to the 12s for the bench!). Back on the bench I then do incline flys using 7kg for 3 sets.

theflat · 12/02/2026 11:54

Your band size must have changed after losing 3 stone?

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 12/02/2026 11:57

Everyone has a pattern in the way that they gain and lose weight. IME once things settle down the weight loss/gain will redistribute to be more proportional but still stay in your usual shape (apple/pear/hourglass etc). I am an apple and when I started losing weight it all came off my shoulders and boobs but my waist size barely changed. After about a year I suddenly went down two waist sizes and my boobs went back up a cup size (thankfully as they were a size I liked when I started). I am still an apple but not quite as extremely apple as when the weight was dropping quickly.
