7.2mg wegovy prescribed…. But injecting as 2.4mg?!

So, apparently at the mo the 7.2 jab is being sent as 3 x 2.4 jabs. You are meant to inject three doses at once to get the 7.2 dose.

I’m assuming that if I find this too much I can just revert to taking as a 2.4 dose?! But that would mean my prescription would last 12 weeks rather than 4 (which at a cost of £300 for the 3 pens is obviously a huge saving too!)

But, do you think the pharmacy would then not allow me to order any more after that as there has been much longer than expected between orders?!

According to Oushk only a few pharmacies have been permitted by Novo to supply 7.2mg in this form at this price ahead of 7.2mg arriving in a single pen.

Part of the agreement is to monitor patients closely to ensure they are indeed using it for 7.2mg and not using it for savings. So it is likely pharmacies will be watching your order patterns and having a word if you don't order as expected.

I’m assuming if they had an issue with it I could swap to another provider? I’m hoping to go on maintenance after this final dose anyway. So all I would need is proof of a recent order to do so?! Lots of people seem to be stockpiling and not having issues with a longer gap than expected when moving to new provider.

You might find a provider who will prescribed and are more lax than Oushk say but I imagine you wouldn’t get away with it for long.
You could of course just order every 4 weeks and stockpile if you wanted, they will only be worried if you have gaps in ordering.

You will need to show the new provider proof of previous prescribing to continue on 2.4mg and not go bac to lowest Wegovy dose, which I assume will show on the pharmacy label or prescription you were prescribed 7.2mg 3 months previously?
