What supplements are you taking?

In the first few days of my Wegovy journey. I already take B complex, E and magnesium glycinate to help with peri symptoms. I’m on collagen capsules and I also drink a sugar free Liquid IV a day because I am prone to dehydration and this has really helped.

Is there anything else I should be looking at? There is so much information out there telling me what I should be taking, if I listened to it all, I’d be rattling around the place and most of them are likely sponsored anyway. It would be nice to hear from actual people on the same journey. Thanks in advance!

I just take a decent multivitamin, but I always have done anyway.

I take multivitamins and fibre gummies.

Is liquid iv electrolytes? You really shouldn’t do thay daily, it’s full of salt, potassium etc and can cause a lot of damage, it seems to be a social media trend that’s dangerous. If you’re dehydrated drink water. Aim for 3 litres a day,

Beekman · 16/02/2026 13:52

Yeah I’m on a diuretic so water just doesn’t cut it for me. I am also low on salts in my last bloodwork. Doctor said electrolytes may help, we’ll see at the next appointment.

I don’t routinely take any. There seemed to be an absolute explosion of supplement advertisement and shilling everywhere I look.
i just eat a balanced diet, ensuring I eat a rainbow of food every day and a decent serving of protein. Maybe once or twice a week when I think of it I take an electrolyte tab in my water but I hate the taste of anything other than water really so more like once a week!
Had to have my bloods done recently for something (not MJ related) and they came back all in range where diet is concerned.

I was taking some to help with perimenopause before I started on the GLP-1, I haven’t added any in just for this. Who knows if they are doing me any good but I do feel better than before I started them (maybe placebo effect).

I’m bombarded every day on SM about different supplements, I just wondered if anyone has started taking some that actually did something

Like you, I take supplements for perimenopause (iron, magnesium etc).

Since starting MJ, I take a multivitamin every day. Nothing fancy - mine are from Home Bargains.

LifeisLemons · 16/02/2026 15:00

I’m 60 and take a Boots brand multivitamin occasionally when I think about it. Other than that, nothing extra. I probably ought to eat a wider variety of fruit and veg, but I just don’t make enough effort when food shopping.

Mind you, I only use a cheap Aldi or Lidl brand moisturiser on my face as I think all these fancy products are pure hype and nothing more.

WeAllHaveWings · 16/02/2026 16:16

I take separate vitamins so rattle a bit!

B12 and co factors (B12 injections/supplement, folate, iron)

Vitamin C - some days to support iron (I can’t eat citrus and sometimes don’t get enough from reflux friendly foods every day)
Omega 3 - some days if not enough from food
Vit D3+K2 - not enough sunshine here in Scotland
Magnesium - helps sleep and stopped nighttime leg cramps

Most related to long term PPI use deficiencies. It wasn’t until I had lost significant weight I realised some health issues/symptoms I was experiencing were not just obesity related.

Dontpretenditssuchamystery · 16/02/2026 16:23

I’m vegan
I take magnesium for my restless legs mostly , b12 , vitamin D , biotin as trying to fro my hair after a awful haircut and a general multivitamin

winnieanddaisy · 16/02/2026 17:19

Any vitamins that you take that your body doesn’t need just get passed out in your pee . In most cases you may as well pour your money down the grid . I would ask my doctor if I needed any and only take the ones he suggests.

Tammy214 · 18/02/2026 11:15

i am deficient in iron, b12, and d so i take these as a matter of course, i take a strong probiotic for medical reasons too. I am going to start taking a multivitamin due to my juicer breaking and so am not getting my normal boost from that.
I take hydration tablets again for medical reasons, but have increased it on the jabs to 1 in water morning and night.

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 18/02/2026 12:05

From November to Feb I take D3 + K2 religiously since blood tests showed very low levels 2 years ago.

Then a standard multivitamin for the rest of the year. Occasional biotin/calcium if I remember
