Food noise

Long story short- after many unsuccessful attempts to loose weight in the past I finally decided to give Mounjaro a try in Nov ‘24. Lost 4.5st. Successfully titrated down and off completely mid Dec ‘25 having maintained for a few months. Still maintaining. However, the food noise is back with a vengeance and is making me utterly miserable.
Has anyone gone back onto Mounjaro just to deal with this? I honestly don’t know how I lived like this before.

Not helpful but my plan is to not have to deal with it by staying on it as long as I can!
I had a couple of weeks break because I had to book a weight verification call when I went to place my order and I was away and not with my scales for a while and then I wasn’t going to be home to collect for another week.
appetite came raging back and although I stuck to my healthy meals I was snacking inbetween. I was fortunate to only gain 2lbs (which although is technically a gain of course, I naturally fluctuate by up
to a couple of pounds week to week anyway) but my god as soon as that package was delivered it was put to use immediately.
Are you on a maintenance plan with your provider? Only asking as not sure if you can re-order after a break and with a healthy BMI?

This is my concern, although not yet titrating down, I will be soon, although I have been the same weight for about 3 months, and I have been reluctant to increase my dose this close to the end (Christmas and birthday will have had some impact on lack of loss, so it's not totally explained by needing to increase)

What is your diet like? Are you eating high protein and avoiding UPFs? UPFs will trigger food cravings

comeonnowdafty · 09/02/2026 08:27

Hi OP - what’s your diet like? One of my friends swears that collagen coffee in the morning helps her massively with food noise. I’m still on MJ myself but that’s something I’ll try when I come off.

It’s still early days for you so perhaps try upping your protein and fibre and waiting to see if your brain settles down over the next few months. Weight loss drugs are improving all the time and it’s possible a low level maintenance pill will be coming out before too long.

LifeisLemons · 09/02/2026 09:06

What do you eat when the food noise is high?

You can choose to either stay on MJ or its replacement for life or you need to religiously plan ahead your daily food options and not sway from them so that you don’t overeat.

Leaving it to willpower alone won’t work!

I didn’t think long term unfortunately and then when the prices went up it left me with no choice but to come off.
I was buying with a local pharmacy who has said they will restart me as they can see all the previous weights and prescriptions.
@comeonnowdafty Thats very interesting as I have been taking collagen but I ran out a couple of weeks ago and hadn’t got round to buying anymore.
@LifeisLemons Ive been planning meticulously so I know what food is coming but it’s been incredibly stressful and depressing thinking about food literally from waking up. Im also finding that extra exercise is helping to focus on something else.

I can't speak for anyone else, but for me the food noise is absolutely crippling and it makes no difference what I do or don't eat.

I've just gone back on MJ after a two month break - I was managing to maintain at a healthy weight but it was getting harder and harder and all I was thinking about from waking to sleeping was food. What am I going to eat today, when am I going to eat it, what happens if I go to buy X item and the shop doesn't have it, what can I get instead... I was getting to the point where I had to plan my days off around not being in places where there are lots of different eating options, only going to Pay at Pump petrol stations so I couldn't buy food at the kiosk, not going into the office because I knew someone had brought in some cake or biscuits, and all sorts of mad stuff like that.

It's absolutely unbearable and I'm not going to come off the jabs again while I can still find a prescriber. Plus, the inflammation from my arthritis got worse while I was off them, and that was an additional struggle. I was definitely turning to food to make myself feel better about it.

Forgot to add, my "journey" had exactly the same timeline as yours - same start and finish and same recent return of the noise. It's scary how insistent it is and how strong the urge is to get back to being fat! I think it's far too simplistic to say that you won't get cravings if you eat the "right" things. If it was that simple to do, we wouldn't need the MJ to lose weight in the first place.

@ICriedAllTheWayToTheChipShop Exactly this. I went to the supermarket earlier and all the Easter eggs are out and I nearly left. The whole way round thinking about them because they are everywhere, I avoided the actual Easter egg aisle but there they are with the cereal and the coffee and the tins. Im spending my entire life at the moment avoiding food and planning food.
On the arthritis note, my migraines are almost nonexistent since starting mj.
