Mounjaro- how did you choose the right pharmacy?

DH has needed to lose weight for quite some time and has come to the realisation that he is unlikely to achieve this without help from WLI. He’s just had a medical at work and his BMI is too high and really needs to cut down for the sake of his health. How did you choose which pharmacy to go with? Did you just go by price or are some places better with support?

Price, but check them out on trust pliot. Lots of people change supplier every month.

chunkyBoo · 20/01/2026 15:05

Check your local area as costs vary. Green Cross pharmacy by my GP was best around me, plus they take weight, BP and measure waist each month too to help track

SilenceInside · 20/01/2026 15:28

Just price and TrustPilot reviews using the https://monj.co.uk comparison site. I didn’t want any support, and didn’t think that any of the support offers were worth the additional costs. I also avoided the ones that work on a subscription model.

I have also changed suppliers often to take advantage of new customer discounts.

Thank you, good to know that there isn’t much more to it other than price & trust pilot reviews. Checked out our local pharmacy but their prices weren’t great. Will take a look at monj.co.uk later with DH.

I’ve stuck with Asda online doctor for the whole of my weight loss journey. Makes life easy for reordering, never have to submit any more photos after the initial request, always have access to GPs online if you have any issues.
they aren’t the cheapest but the service has been excellent - I’ve never waited longer than 48 hours from putting in an order to the delivery being sent

I have tried a few but have settled with Oushk. They are not perfect nor are they the cheapest but it for me, they are a good balance.
It all depends what you want from them really. I don’t need support most of the time but I find Oushk responsive, actually listen to their customers and are very reliable. I like their maintenance approach too although I’m not there yet.

There is also igovy.co.uk if you want to compare Wegovy prices with Mounjaro.

(Wegovy is the same medication as Ozempic, just licensed under a different name for weight loss).

Since the August price hike more people are using Wegovy than before as they higher doses of Mounjaro can be a bit eye watering if you don't respond as well to lower doses and need to go that high.

I have been on Mounjaro for 19 months, but thankfully haven't needed to go above 5mg so it is affordable for me.

Definitely recommend using monj.co.uk to swap for new user deals and also use here and Reddit for reviews as well as trust pilot. I’ve used MedExpress (easy option generally but won’t be cheapest without new deal or referral code). I then used Chemist4u, Swift doctor, pharmulous, weprescribe, simple online pharmacy and pharmacy2u. All have been fine, just have to take your time and provide everything they ask for. Keep all boxes with prescription labels (or save photos of them) to evidence prescription history for moving suppliers.

I was dubious about the weird names I had never heard of initially but the ones I listed are all really established in this market and every company on monj is GPhC registered even it does sound like it was named by a Young Enterprise group. Boots, Lloyds, Asda all rely on people feeling safe with familiarity and overcharge for the exact same medicine.

ive avoided any that offer additional services as I don’t think they are worth it, can find out everything you need and monitor yourself, and I also avoid subscription ones even when they have tempting deals for month 1.

A colleague was using medexpress so talked me through it and that’s what me and dh have used. We’ve had no problems with delivery or goods and there is online support if you need it but I’d imagine they are all pretty much the same tbh.

Jami93 · 20/01/2026 22:09

I use medexpress. I’ve had no problems. Orders sent quickly and they send you reminders when it’s time to reorder. I know some people shop around each month to get better deals, but I find sticking with one place easier.

HappyWineDay · 20/01/2026 22:31

I’ve used Medicine Market Place for a number of months. Never any hassle and always competitive on price.

nicemarmot · 21/01/2026 07:01

Thanks so much for letting me know who you’re using- really good to know which places have been hassle free. We’ll look through the names & pick one.

I'm on wegovy, but I've gone with Boots. It may not be the cheapest but I felt reassured by the brand name.
