I tried a couple of days not tracking and while Sunday was fine, Monday and Tuesday were definitely not. So I’m tracking again!

But I’m really having difficulty with exercise. I don’t get exercise endorphins and I just can’t get up early in the morning, I simply can’t. I’m so tired. I absolutely hate the gym and hating it I won’t pay a membership. Even if I did it wouldn’t persuade me to go to not waste the money, my brain just doesn’t work like that!

I’ll be fine but I am just struggling a bit.

I'm much the same with exercise, I absolutely hate it. The thought of stepping foot inside a gym is my idea of fresh hell. But I bought myself a treadmill recently, and am forcing myself to do 1/2hr every day, and am doing c25k. Its shit, I hate every second of it, but I'm too pigheaded to admit to DH it was a waste of money!

I do really enjoy walking though. We live at the coast, and I absolutely love walking on the beach and the cliff tops. The dogs have never had so much exercise.

Billybingbong · 11/02/2026 22:40

@Iwouldratherbesinging so sorry to hear about your redundancy, what a shock for you. I hope you find a way forward without too much worry.

@MrTiddlesTheCat so sorry you've been through BC, its great to hear you're out the other side. Thank you for sharing your food plan, its always good to get some new ideas.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 12/02/2026 02:14

@Billybingbong @TragicMuse
I entirely agree about hating exercise.

I find that waking to the post office and back with my Vinted parcels every day is a very good workout. It's also free.
🤣

I might have bought a treadmill if I had anywhere to put one.

I've had a bit of a revelation though. I've been going on about my legs being fat, despite my weight almost being normal.

Well, I had several pairs of jeans in a drawer, all of which were far too small.
Some of them are skinny size 10s.

I took them all out yesterday and every single pair fit me. I can see that my legs are definitely slimmer. I don't know if this is because of starting diosmin, or if my legs are just getting thinner at last.

But I'm taking this as a win.

I'm very sorry about your redundancy news @Iwouldratherbesinging
That's really shocking.

@Springflowers2 when I hit a wall a couple of months ago, I forced myself to eat almost nothing for three days, and fasted for 22 hours a day.

That was enough to kick-start my weightloss again.

Thanks that's helpful to know ..glad you found what worked for you xx

MummyInTheNecropolis · 12/02/2026 06:08

@Iwouldratherbesinging that’s a big shock, I’m sorry to hear that, but as others have said, perhaps or could be a blessing in disguise?

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne yay for the skinny legs! I always thought your legs looked great in the photos you’ve posted!

For those thinking about exercise, you definitely don’t need a gym to be able to do it. I absolutely hate the gym and never step foot in one but still do shitloads of exercise. I tried lots of different types until I found the ones I enjoyed and could stick with. I now walk for over an hour every morning to work, do yoga every day and Pilates once a week. I also run a couple of times a week, I completed c25k in the summer and have kept it up as I really enjoy it. I do a dance fitness class on a Saturday at little local studio and have recently started a weekly weights class in the same place. I was swimming weekly but that has tailed off in the winter, I’ll restart when it gets a bit warmer. If I’d forced myself to go the gym I would never have stuck with it, I knew it was only going to work for me if I found things that I actually enjoy and don’t feel like a chore!

Definitely I found you absolutely have to find what you enjoy, when it comes to exercise.
I swim weekdays ,( when I have the car ) and it really helps having a routine of doing the swim at the same time each day ,seeing the same people,it means I get up and put my costume straight on ,and of I go ..
I am a very lazy person and swimming is all I can tolerate..it is definitely worth trying different things to find something you like / can tolerate x

And that you all for you kind thoughts about my breast cancer diagnosis. I'm out the other side now. I had 2 surgeries and radiotherapy but escaped chemo. I'll be on hormone therapy for 5 years and am currently having lymph therapy, which I'm hoping the weight loss will help with.

The positive side of having had breast cancer is that it really showed me that the majority of people genuinely care for others, even if life sometimes gets in the way. And doctors finally take me seriously, even the smallest niggles no longer get dismissed and put down to my weight.

So your all in the clear ??
That's wonderful news ..I'm so happy for you

Springflowers2 · 12/02/2026 06:15

Iwouldratherbesinging · 11/02/2026 18:17

I’m so sorry you’re struggling @Springflowers2, we started around the same time if I remember correctly and I’ve definitely had it easier than you, I too raced up the doses and 15mg was still doing its thing for me after staying on it for 10 months, I really wish I knew why people react so differently so we could figure out why this happens to others.

I still stand by the fasting for two (or even one) day a week. if you are going over your calories just by a small amount every day then the fasting days will definitely counteract this.

so glad you are the other side of what must have been a very scary journey @MrTiddlesTheCat 💐

Ah yes we did ,I remember
Thanks for the advice..
I am definitely craving food a fair bit at the moment,I remember when It did work well ,and I wasn't thinking about food much ,now I'm back to thinking about it a lot ..
I think I broom said a while back about having doses closer together,I'm going to do that for a couple of weeks as well

I found out today that I’m being made redundant, a total shock after 27 years in my current role which is quite niche. AI can do my job so I’m no longer needed.
I cried… told to take the afternoon off. I’ve had time to process now and it’s not all bad news, I’ve been offered an enhanced package which almost equates to a years salary, I was hoping to retire early just not this early! I’ve always had a dream to become self employed (I paint/draw) but am so risk averse that I’ve never had the courage to pursue my dreams until now.
I have 9 working days left! I’m both terrified and excited in equal parts

Wow ,what an amazing opportunity you have been presented with ..how delicious..no one telling you what to do ,
It must of been a shock ..but glass half full ,not half empty...that sounds like it could be perfect timing for you to achieve your dreams xx

GnomeDePlume · 12/02/2026 07:19

Weigh in and jab day

SW 140kg BMI 54.7
CW 95.4kg BMI 37.3
GW 63kg BMI 24.6

15 stones in old money. That's 7 stones off, 'only' another 5 stones to go. More than half way.

I feel I have been absent from this thread for a while. Life has been getting in the way. But that is the benefit of mounjaro, it keeps doing its thing in the background.

recruitretain · 12/02/2026 08:00

Been traveling
wow it’s hard to keep focused on diet but calorie counter helped me
22 days on MJ now

Ketra · 12/02/2026 08:44

Weigh in for me today and I'm getting very close to 6 stone loss - I'm at the point now where my brain isn't recognising that my weigh starts with 16 at the moment - I have to keep checking thats the right number!

I've also hit the achievement I've seen a lot of other people with a lot to lose share - I finally register on the NHS BMI tracker at 39.3!

Motnight · 12/02/2026 08:52

Hi All. Loving all the victories - the NSVs as well.
@Iwouldratherbesinging - what a shock. But it sounds as though it could be a good thing?

Motnight · 12/02/2026 08:57

Oops posted too soon
@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne anyone that fits into size 10 jeans has slim legs! @GnomeDePlume - I also am not posting much, but carrying on like you.
I've lost over 110 lbs - 2 elephant penises (if you know you know 😬). It doesn't seem real. Still officially obese 🤣 but life has changed so much for me already so I will keep on.

TragicMuse · 12/02/2026 09:14

Had my diabetes annual bloods etc this morning.

Some nice NSVs!

Blood pressure nice and low - no need to do a week of home tracking then they lose the sheet and I have to do it all again! (That’s happened at least twice!) AND the normal cuff fit my arm, I didn’t need the big one.

And for once I opted to be weighed, I don’t usually, and their scales weigh the same as mine which was pleasing.

I am weirdly excited about my blood sugars, so fingers crossed they’re good!

SilenceInside · 12/02/2026 09:34

@Iwouldratherbesinging what a shock to find out at such short notice about being made redundant. It's good that you have a pretty decent redundancy package being offered to you, which hopefully will give you a bit of breathing space to figure out what you want to do next. It will definitely take a while to process I think.

@GnomeDePlume big congratulations on the 7 stone total loss, that's a great achievement!

@recruitretain a great total loss so far for you, and great that you have been able to keep up with calorie counting around all the travelling.

@Ketra fantastic to be on the NHS BMI chart and getting under the 40 BMI marker, as well as an almost 6 stone loss!

@TragicMuse so pleased for you that your BP was normal and that the scales there agreed with your scales at home. I hope your blood sugars will also be where you want them to be. Hopefully you'll find out in a couple of days?

Iwouldratherbesinging · 12/02/2026 13:49

Thanks for all your kind words ladies, it all feels a bit surreal at the moment. I’m planning on turning my home office into an art studio now!
I think that I’m struggling with not being able to tell my colleagues at the moment, I’m just waiting for the paperwork from the legal team, I then have to seek legal advice (which the company pay for) and agree to the clauses (probably NDAs). Once that’s done I think I can tell people. It all feels very cloak and dagger.

GlowGetter · 12/02/2026 14:22

NSV - I went to try on a dress that I have my eye on for a very special occasion in late Summer. The assistant had to get my size from the stockroom. I've no idea what size I am, but I am still in my size 18 clothes (7 stone to lose in total). I asked for the 18 and the 16, but amazingly, the 16 was loose!! I had to ask for the 14, which almost did up; however my big boobs got in the way but it did fit on the waist. Very chuffed!. Too scared to buy the 14 yet, in case I get even smaller before the event.

literally had the app open constantly

they are obsessed with eating

salads and meat os basically what I ate

I did have a slice of Pizza at a very famous place in Brooklyn , my only treat eat

PearlTeapot · 12/02/2026 14:58

You've gotta have pizza in Brooklyn, @recruitretain glad you treated yourself!

@GnomeDePlume well done on the 7 stone!!

Onenotsosmallstep · 12/02/2026 15:46

I am at a work event- a sector conference today. I think it must have been planned by hobbits there are so much opportunities to eat. So far since 10am and having had breakfast at the hotel there has been: second breakfast, mid morning freshly prepared warm/cold snacks, lunch, mid afternoon freshly prepared warm/cold snacks and constant access to ambient snack foods. This is before the event dinner starting at 6pm. Why?!? Also worryingly last year I’m sure I ate at each given opportunity and thought nothing of it! How things change in a year. I’ve had poached eggs (no toast) for breakfast and tuna steak salad with some Japanese chicken for lunch and feel satisfied but not sleepy unlike many around me.

MCR24 · 12/02/2026 17:11

I stayed the same this week 😐 69.2kg was hoping for a loss but nevermind.

Fffreeeeezing · 12/02/2026 19:14

So I haven’t told anyone (except my mum and assorted medical professionals) that I’m on the jabs. Today at my PT session the PT asked me about my weightloss and then outright if I was on them and I said yes. She isn’t my usual PT (she stands in for my usual one so I’ve known her for ages) but she was very enthusiastic and asked if she could tell my my usual PT (who I know really well but have been avoiding telling due to the fear of judgement) and I said yes.
I had the longest text from her (my usual PT) not long after getting home and it was so lovely it made me cry! I won’t copy and paste it because that feels weird but highlights include how she thinks it a fantastic decision, that she sees how hard I’m working and she’s incredibly proud of the progress I’m making and how 8 stone is life changing. Also says there is zero judgment, just huge support and shes so excited for my journey and helping me get there.

I was so worried a super fit skinny person would be judgy and disapproving but I so shouldn’t have been worried, she obviously ‘gets it’ based on this part of the message “The jabs might help with the chemistry, but they don't do the workouts, the Pilates, or the discipline—that is all you”

I think I may have the best trainer ever! Isn’t that the response we all would like from everyone?

And I feel better having told 2 different people as well, I’ve always said if I was asked outright I wouldn’t lie but no ones asked until today 🤷‍♀️
