I hope it’s okay to start a new thread as we are getting dangerously close to the end of thread 1

My current stats are

planning on staying on 2.5mg for my next pen
SW: 13 stone 9.4lbs
Week 1: lost 11 lbs

Went to my first ‘social’ thing yesterday so was tempted by a massive buffet, cake, scones etc

It was my friends baby shower. I was really sensible though (but did have a cake)

Anyway, the baby shower was cut short as my friends waters broke and she had a baby boy at 1.30am!

I must say, that was the best & most memorable baby shower I’ve ever been to!

Topsyturvey10 · 25/01/2026 10:21

I’m in Jan 3 now and in total have lost over 8lb so a large duck or two big rabbits😂
Im going to stick at the 2.5 as my suppression is still pretty good, I do seem fixated on having one small chocolate bar every day at work but I have no interest in biscuits or cakes any more. It’s truly miraculous, before Xmas I was eating loads and felt very down about it because nothing worked.

The only side effects have been the slight constipation, sometimes I don’t go for a whole day then have an epic clear out the next😂 I did two short runs this week and I do feel a bit like I’m running on empty today so I’m going to ensure I eat well with plenty of protein today. I’m more tired than usual and feeling the cold.

I need to figure out this golden dose, and probably up my protein too. It’s good to see we are all making progress and the benefits we are feeling🥳

Morning all - just did jab number 5 of MJ. I increased to 5mg. Not sure why as the suppression was working on 2.5mg. Oh well, we’ll see how it goes.

5’7”
SW 81kg
CW 76kg
GW 60kg

I haven’t started exercising yet which is a bit bad. I’ve ordered a magic mirror with an AI personal trainer inside. I’m sure that will work 😂 It’s arrive week after next.

Taking Nutrition Geeks glow up collagen and biotin. My skin is looking good, I feel better, but that could also be the detox from sugar and eating crap!!

Hope everyone has a good week.

What is a magic mirror?

blackandwhitefluffycat · 25/01/2026 10:41

Disney World here and we have the free table service dining plan so get lunch, two course table service meal and (massive) snack each day, for two weeks 🙈 We went a couple of years ago and the the meals at the places we ate at weren’t too unhealthy actually and there was lots of choice, the snacks were massive though - though my husband and I have said we’ll share and we can use the extra credits to bring sweets home as gifts. I don’t normally snack at all, but it has to be done over there, as they are amazing! I didn’t put any weight on as I was pre HRT and we were walking 25,000+ steps a day! So hopefully it’ll be the same this time.

That baby didn’t want to miss the party! What a fabulous story - congrats to your friend @BG2015!

@Topsyturvey10 I can now see that golden dose in the pen - seems like loads to waste! I just searched up ‘golden dose syringes’ on Amazon and there are LOADS of places selling them. Has anyone done this? Any advice?

I started weight training a few weeks before I started MJ and it has made such a difference to how I feel - stronger and I am starting to see the toning (under the fat 😂).

My downfall has always been crisps and full fat coke - realised this morning that I haven’t even thought about them for 3 weeks!

I have ordered a 5 mg pen for next week but might start with a 2.5 mg dose from it. I have good suppression but can still eat healthily and enough protein etc - I don’t want to get to the stage where I can’t stomach food at all. I need this process to completely reeducate my eating not just stop it.

Me too! Am a total crisp fiend. Like, really, really bad. My kyptonite.

Id devour a family size pack as I'd still be hungry after eating. Washed down with Coke Zero.

Havent had any crisps since I started except for some small packs of snack a Jacks and about 3 pringles (which I didn't enjoy).

Was at my friend's place last night (well, early morning) watching the Australian Open, and she offered me a pack and I said no.

Its the ability it gives you to say no.
Like many, can't fully explain it.

I must not get frustrated. I must not get frustrated. I must not get frustrated.

Scales haven’t really budged for me in 10 days. I know I need to stay the course and eventually there will be a “whoosh” and they will drop but this is often the point where I fall off the wagon. 4th jab tomorrow which will hopefully reset my brain a bit. But man I could really do with the boost of a consistent drop through this week!

Me too. Great loss in week one which was exciting even though I knew it was mainly water. Nothing in the next ten days and I’ve now gone up a pound! I’m eating less than I was in week one so it’s frustrating. Hoping a whoosh is coming.

Springflowers3 · 25/01/2026 11:47

Just weighed myself again this morning and I’ve lost another 2lbs, so 8 in total. Was a bit despondent when I’d put on half a pound when I weighed on Friday, combination of water retention and constipation. I’m going to increase fibre in my diet, will make a veggie chilli with various beans and lentilS.

I was sent 5 needles with my pack so I’m assuming I can use the fifth to get the last dose from the pen.

Newstartplease24 · 25/01/2026 11:50

Congratulations to your friend @BG2015 !

Happy holidays @blackandwhitefluffycat . I would think the Disney experience is pretty physically full on - you probably need to eat a lot actually

I’ve been thinking a lot about what this drug is doing and why it’s needed. So many people are now in a situation where eating to a healthy weight means constant resistance or effort, without it. Why is that? None of us on this thread is ill informed or lazy.

I’m in the third day of my first dose and feeling a bit sick. I feel better now I’ve eaten . I might have got a bit overexcited enjoying the missing drive to scoff and been a bit low on food to keep me going this morning. I’m making some soup in the slow cooker for lunches this week and I have high hopes of not snacking on the way home from work when I’m exhausted and pissed off.

SW 95.9kg
CW 95.1kg
GW 64 kg (high end of healthy bmi for me)
interim GW 80kg for the summer (solstice 21 June partners birthday 22 June and I’ll wear a nice dress I hope)

Thanks for writing this. I felt my weight loss has been disproportionate to my efforts. I lost 1.3kg overnight. How I don't know. The whoosh will come.

Just jumping on your thread with some info about the fifth dose of MJ. I started in May last year and have always used the “golden” dose, it’s too expensive to waste.

Don’t buy syringes from Amazon, they won’t be guaranteed sterile, you need a medical supplier like UK Medi for insulin syringes. A 1ml syringe will be ok, a full dose from your pen is 0.6ml. I often get 0.8 ml out of the pen, giving you a dose of 3.33mg from a 2.5mg pen, a nice stepping stone if you’re moving up to a higher dose pen.

Many people use this syringe, You insert the needle into the pen through the red seal and slowly extract all the remaining liquid, then inject as normal.

https://ukmedi.co.uk/products/fms-micro-syringe-32g-8mm-1ml-fms-fms-32g-10ml-ukmedi-co-uk

Some people (me included) are a bit scared of the needles on this syringe, it’s 8mm long compared to the 4mm pen needles you usually use. I use the Luer lock syringes and buy separate Luer lock 4mm needles. As the needles are detachable, I use 1 needle to extract the extra dose, then swap to a brand new needle to inject. The first time I did this the needle bent a little bit when I pushed it through the seal and I figured it might not be as sharp, I really didn’t want to inject myself with a blunt needle!

blackandwhitefluffycat · 25/01/2026 13:42

Thanks @Newstartplease24

Hang on in there to those who haven’t seen losses for a week or so; this was me a couple of weeks back and it’s so frustrating but it resolved itself for me the next week and it was due to where I was in my cycle.

@FrothyCothy Same here with falling off the wagon when it happens normally! Thankfully the MJ removing cravings will make it easier to keep it up.

My husband has been getting the extra doses out, I’m not sure how but he watched a video on how to do it.

AddUpToNothing · 25/01/2026 14:22

I think you could be right @blackandwhitefluffycat about where you are in your cycle. I still have my ovaries after my hysterectomy and this would be around my time of the month so I’m going with that theory!

Regarding the golden dose (first one next week!) I have ordered the luer lock ones @Merluzzo recommended above as I’m also slightly scared of the longer needles and have watched some videos on YouTube of others doing it.

@Merluzzo this is incredibly helpful, thank you!

Can I ask, did you run into any issues with your GLP-1 supplier for not reordering every 4 weeks as expected?

CatNoBag · 25/01/2026 17:39

Can I ask @Merluzzo - if I have an extra needle, is it possible to just use that as normal for a fifth dose? My pen came with five needles, so I assumed it would work that way, but maybe the pen stops rotating/clicking after the fourth dose?

Onbdy · 25/01/2026 17:51

I also had 5 needles and would like to know this too.

@Onbdy @CatNoBag You can try to get the 5th dose by breaking the lock on the pen. Once you have had 4 full doses the pen mechanism locks and won’t click any further. Sometimes you can force it to move, allowing you to inject as normal with the usual pen needle. I did this once using some pliers as I wasn’t strong enough to break the lock with my hands. It’s definitely worth a try, but doing it this way means it’s harder to judge exactly what dose you’ve had as you’re not measuring the liquid.

Merluzzo · 25/01/2026 18:27

@Perianth I’ve had no issues with my supplier questioning how often I order pens. I’m with Pharmulous at the moment.

If they did question it, I’d probably just say I didn’t take it for a week because of side effects.

totallyfrusted · 25/01/2026 18:42

Hi All, hope you don’t mind me joining. I’ve been following the thread as I started on MJ this month but his is my first post.

my 1st dose was great with no side effects. I took my second dose on Wednesday morning and have had the most dreadful weekend. Yesterday I was cold and achy all day and I woke early this morning with bad cramps and have had the most shocking diarrhea all day.

no idea if it’s MJ or I’ve picked up a bug. I’m meant to be going into the office tomorrow and not sure I’m going to be able to make it.

has anyone else had this? I didn’t really eat yesterday as I wasn’t feeling well so no idea what has set it off.

I’Ve over 5 stone to loose so really need this to work. Week one was great and I lost 3.3kg. Am really hoping this is a one off as I really can’t leave the house 😬😬

bookwormcrazy · 25/01/2026 19:55

I have been away this weekend for a weekend in London and while I have been relatively good and just having breakfast at the hotel that lasted me most of the day, I have fallen off the wagon big time tonight and munching my way through a pack of jelly tots that have been in the drawer for 4 weeks, my Achilles heel. I am due my 4th jab tomorrow and want to make the most of my bonus dose but I think the 5mg jab can’t come soon enough.

Same happened to me. Week one ok, 2&3 were almost static, but things seem to have started moving again in week 4. I’ve ordered 5mg next, so starting that next Sun.

Welcome @totallyfrusted

I did my first jab last week and had awful diarrhoea from day 2 - day 4. I couldn’t leave the house and had to stay home from work for 3 days! I barely ate anything but tried to keep up with my water intake. I felt loads better by day 5 and went back to eating small, protein heavy meals. I’m on jab 2 today and now seem to have gone the other way and feel constipated!

I had a meal out yesterday with old friends. I didn’t want to tell them I’m on MJ yet so I had a couple of mocktails (driving) and 1 glass of wine. I only ate small amounts of food which wasn’t too obvious as we had Greek sharing plates. It was day 7 though so I felt like suppression was low. I realised today that I really enjoyed the meal and company without having to stuff my face.

I lost 4lb in week 1 so I’m taking that as a good start.
SW 13lb 6
CW 13lb 2

Thanks for the info on bonus dose - will definitely try this for week 5. Going to see how I go with side effects this week and then decide whether to stick with 2.5 or move up to 5ml.
