Panic bought in July

Whowahway123 · 16/01/2026 20:44

I’m in a pickle…

I panic bought (I know l know) in Aug 4 pens - 2x 12.5mg & 2x 15mg from medicine marketplace and pharmacy 2u. All good no side effects, doing its job, loving it.

So last injection is due to run out next week, I went on a few sites found a good price, fills out the consultation Qs, uploaded a picture my current pen with box clearly showing name, strength, date etc.

unfortunately I have been turned down for repeat prescription as the prescribed date is showing more than 4weeks ago. Well obviously it is because I panic bought 🥴🫣

I have been taking the doses weekly without a break apart from 1 week where I had the flu & 1 week I was away from home & forgot to take meds. These were not consecutive weeks.

i have been advised that I will have to restart my mounjaro journey at 2.5mg right back at the start, even though I have been taking the 15mg for the past 7 weeks.

im not looking for a way to bluff the system or anything as I genuinely haven’t bypassed any doses but how can I get the online suppliers to understand that I haven’t had a break medication even though the last prescribed was in Aug 25?

I have sent pics of pen, emailed
copies of online orders, matched up transactions on bank statements, hoiked out used pens from sharps bin & sent pics but I’m still hitting a brick wall.

any advice or anyone else in the same boat?

i now wish I hadn’t panic bought as this is causing me more stress than the price hike did!

TIA

Try lots of different suppliers - one of them will actually be a human reviewing as opposed to auto reject AI bot. I would suggest Swift Dr and Pharmulous which I have read are both GP led. Others can maybe suggest more. You might not get the cheapest pen this time but then you will have a recent prescription as evidence to shop around next time.

Itsallred · 16/01/2026 20:54

Could you maybe go to your local pharmacy armed with your evidence? It could be easier to make a reasonable argument face to face, and if you can show them the used pens matched up with the boxes they might be more amenable, our local pharmacy is really good. Is your bmi still above the range of acceptability? I'm surprised the suppliers who let you bulk buy are now being awkward, cheeky sods.

Stasis26 · 16/01/2026 20:54

Basically it’s sounds like you have the evidence - all your box labels? Or emails of order confirmations and they add up to almost the full number of weeks since last order with only a couple of week breaks that you can explain. I think so long as you are still well over the lowest bmis accepted by these companies (usually 21-23ish) then you will be fine.

Sometimessometimesnot · 16/01/2026 20:57

I always go to my local pharmacist. Less hassle and he was happy to prescribe for me even though I hadn’t seen him since beginning of November.

Sweetiedarling7 · 16/01/2026 20:58

I did exactly the same as you and bulk bought.
I am now with Curely and sent them photos of my pens bought back in July/ August. They accepted it without problem and prescribed my same dose of 15mg.
I suggest you try them.

morbidcuriosity · 16/01/2026 21:01

Try pharmalous.. I sent a pic of 4 box. 3 dates in August 1 in Sept early Sept like 4th.. and they were OK with that. I ordered mid December.

Sam187 · 16/01/2026 21:27

I did similar with bulk buying, I had 4 pens. Just went with a new supplier, pharmacy4u who didn't bat an eyelid...

Whowahway123 · 16/01/2026 21:27

Ah brilliant - thanks all. I was waiting for a pure bollcking for panic buying 🥴 I was really starting to think I was back to the 2.5mg which I obviously want to avoid at all costs.

i do think it’s gonna to be a case of speaking to an actual person & just not a computer says no problem which is the brick wall I’m hitting. I will copy & paste a conversation below trying to explain & the prescribers response 😣

i haven’t heard of pharmalous or indeed curely, so I will indeed try. Do you think I will need to put in the order, pay & wait for clinical review to hopefully avoid flagging it? I’m wary of doing it with both aforementioned suppliers & ending up in the same position again with 2 pens & then not having a prescription dated within 4wks for my April pen.

My message - Thank you for reviewing my information.
Due to the price increase on GLP-1 Mounjaro, I ordered four Mounjaro pens in September 2025.

To clarify, I used the pens consecutively as follows:
• 12.5mg purchased 28th July via pharmacy 2u used in Sept / Oct 2025
• 12.5mg purchased 4th Aug via medicine marketplace used in Oct / Nov 2025
• 15mg purchased 15th Aug via MMP used in Nov / Dec 2025
• 15.mg purchased 22nd Aug via Pharmacy2u used in Dec
• 15mg purchased 26th Aug via MMP currently in use.

My last dose was on 9 January 2026.

These are traceable on the attached email purchase confirmation, bank statement, pictures of pens & pictures of empties.

There were 2 possibly 3 non-consecutive doses missed during this period — one due to illness and one due to holiday travel. Aside from these isolated missed doses, there has been full continuity of use, with the medication taken consistently week-to-week using the same supply of pens purchased in September 2025.

All pens were used sequentially and without overlap, maintaining continuous treatment throughout October, November, December and into January.

Dear Patient,
We have noted a treatment gap of more than 4 weeks since your last Mounjaro dose. For your safety, treatment must be restarted at 5mg, the lowest safe licensed strength.
While your gap may be for a good reason, we are only able to use objective clinical evidence for our prescribing decisions; personal assurance is not sufficient.
If you believe there has not been a gap in treatment, please email us (help@ with additional evidence to support there being no gap in treatment. This may be a label, letter or invoice from another provider; this will need to include your name, the dose, and the date. We can also accept other forms of evidence that prove to us your gap was justified by another medical professional.

@Sam187 did they ask for evidence of current dose & how did you explain having 4 boxes dated July/aug?

its literally like im screaming into a void with no one listening to me that I haven’t missed any doses!

All they asked for was a pic of my most recent box, which was dated around August time. They approved at the same dose, no questions.

Whowahway123 · 16/01/2026 21:48

Right well I’ve just put in an order with pharmacy2u (as a returning customer as I have used them before) at this stage I’m not worried about price, I will pay a premium to get this blip sorted & then source the cheapest supplier.

i really hope this goes through for me! Everyone keep their fingers crossed

thanks again

I had four pens so had a similar issue. Both Oushk and Pharmulous have been fine with prescribing when I explained.

Cabinfever20 · 17/01/2026 11:35

I had the same problem after bulk buying in August. As I’ve been trying to use up my stock of about 5 pens I hadn’t ordered since the end of September. Med Express weren’t very happy but all, bar one, pens were from them. I sent photos of all the boxes showing the prescription and dates, and the current pen I was using, and although it took a week they did prescribe, but I was only asking for 5mg.

Whowahway123 · 21/01/2026 17:08

just a quick update - situation averted.

pharmacy2u came through with the goods with minimal questioning. Thanks to those that mentioned it, slightly more
expensive but averted the problem & had the order here in 48hrs. I forgot to say that I had been conversing with fella, Iq Doc & med express since 30/12/25 regarding ordering until they all eventually declined on 16/17th Jan! Ridiculous over 2 weeks backwards and forwards trying to explain to them.

if anyone wants a Pharmacy2u referral code just pm me.

thanks again, onwards & Hopefully downwards towards the last 5kg coming off!

I panic bought, but carried on ordering and now have a stash of over 11pens in my fridge. I have a fear of ever running out 🤯

HappyWineDay · 22/01/2026 12:51

I also bought a couple of extra pens in July. It wasn't a panic buy, it was simply to avoid the big price rise. However, I've continued to buy monthly, so have that constant bow wave ahead of me. At some point I'll have to decide it's time to taper down and/or whether I'm going to stop altogether

scoobydeedoo · 26/01/2026 19:27

Hi Op, did you use the golden dose for your pens? I'm having the same issue you had with re-ordering now, I've got the evidence of the pens I bought but I always use the golden dose so technically my pens have lasted more than a month.

Unsure if the provider I've went with will be ok with this since it's against their guidelines. They've asked for screenshots of my orders and dates so they can match everything up but obviously it only matches up for every 5 weeks, not every 4 😶

Whowahway123 · 27/01/2026 04:33

Yep, I golden dosed as well so that made my timings seem “worse”.

im hoping that by having this new prescription by P2U, it will kind of help regulate my dates & allow me to go back the less expensive suppliers.

Good luck!

Didn't get anywhere with Numan so trying with Pharmacy2u, like you I'll take the hit on the higher price to get an up to date prescription. I'd like to lose another stone to get me to a weight I know I'm happy with and then the plan is to slowly move down doses!

If they don't accept it, I guess I'll have to go back to the start from scratch, will be rubbish having to deal with the constant hunger and cravings though!
