Mounjaro v wegovy doses

Can someone explain the difference between doses on the two jabs. So 10mg mounjaro what would the equivalent dose be on wegovy and do they work the same as their doses only go up to 2.4mg would this not be much weaker than the 10mg mounjaro?

They are different medications, and don't work in the same way, so the doses are not directly comparable like this. Just because 2.4mg of Wegovy is less than 10mg of Mounjaro doesn't mean that it is "much weaker".

There's an article here about if you want to switch from Mounjaro to Wegovy, what dose would be roughly equivalent:

https://www.simpleonlinepharmacy.co.uk/health-advice/weight-loss/wegovy-vs-mounjaro-doses-conversion/

Some pharmacies are also now offering a 7.2mg highest dose of Wegovy, which has recently been approved in the UK. If you're already on 2.4mg and need a higher dose, you can do 3 x 2.4mg injections on the same day to give you a 7.2mg dose. Sometime later this year an actual 7.2mg dose pen will be available so it can be done as one single injection as per the other doses.

I've switched from 10mg to 1.7mg, for me 1.7mg has been stronger in suppression and satiety than 10mg but lots of people find it ineffective compared to mj because it has less blood sugar control. So it really depends on your blood sugar levels and how close or far you are from a normal bmi as this indicates better natural insulin sensitivity.

Out of curiosity how are you finding it?

I'm on 7.5mg and 7 months into MJ. I've lost 48.5lbs and still want approx another 2stone or so. I'm 33 BMI (started at 42).

Considering the switch but unsure...

Like I said, it's better suppression and satiety than 10mg mj was. I am eating a more balanced diet as I don't have nausea and don't want to avoid food types any longer, with mj it was fish and eggs which i really enjoyed before mj. I've just taken my 8th dose, I did reduce the clicks in the last month to make it easier to eat more as suppression was so strong I was only managing 800-1000 cals a day. Since reducing to 65 clicks or 1.35mg I'm eating 1300-1500 cals a day, which is what I need for maintenance especially with starting body toning classes twice a week. I lost 3lbs on my first 1.7mg pen to get to 9st my goal. Been maintaining since within a 2lb range. It does have less blood sugar control so you need to factor that in if you have issues with that, like I used to being mildly diabetic, but since hitting bmi 25, currently bmi 22.7, my natural insulin sensitivity increased so I don't need the GIP of mounjaro.
