Microdosing now suppliers are more strict?!

How are people managing to microdose when pharmacies seem to have cracked down on length of time between orders?!

is it just a case of ordering in usual monthly intervals but creating a stockpile?!

I order from one of the clinics that specialises in microdosing, so it's no issue. Imagine many others do the same?

MarshaMarshaMarsha · 08/01/2026 13:43

Oh really? I thought microdosing means essentially using the same jab longer than recommended and using syringes to extract?! Or have I misunderstood? I’ve been on it for nearly two years and stretch each month out to 5 or 6 weeks but have noticed my supplier suggesting they would question a gap of more than six weeks between orders.

I have noticed my supplier chasing me up more often than they used to in the gaps between orders. I have ordered again just to get them off my back but it’s so expensive to keep doing that. I was worried in case they said I would need to submit new photos because of the time lapse. The thought fills me with horror as I hate taking photos of myself. The first time was awful, I nearly chickened out.

morbidcuriosity · 08/01/2026 13:52

@DanceDanceRevolutionswhich provider is that please?

Bulbsbulbsbulbs · 08/01/2026 13:57

Yes, it's very difficult. My supplier wants me to order monthly, so I've been stockpiling really- I have 5 pens in the fridge!

For me, 6 weeks between doses works for maintenance perfectly.

Between doses?? Weeks?

SilenceInside · 08/01/2026 14:00

The original most common meaning of the term "microdosing" originated from taking very very small doses of psychedelic drugs like LSD as it was claimed that this might bring about various benefits. So nowhere near enough to get high, but instead tiny doses.

For some reason, using less than a full dose from a Mounjaro pen seems to now be known as "microdosing" even though you are usually taking a normal amount of medication, just from a higher strength pen.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 08/01/2026 14:15

@SilenceInside totally agree although I would say that the term ‘micro dosing’ is being misused in this context and the more accurate ‘short dosing’ would be a better alternative!

GlassofRosePorfavor · 08/01/2026 14:19

I built up a stockpile of 8 pens and then went on maintenance with my supplier. So basically they think I'm not using any but I am 2.5mg a week from 5mg pens. I pay them £15 a month and it's for 2 years. If I want more I can re order. I hope not too but we will see!

Tammy214 · 08/01/2026 14:19

completely agree here that the term microdosing is being misused.

it will be interesting to see, when tested in a clinical setting what effect changing the agreed dosing has.

Toddlerteaplease · 08/01/2026 14:29

I use Asda and you can order very frequently. So I have a stockpile in my fridge.

Tammy214 · 08/01/2026 14:46

i purchased my first and second dose before starting , so now am being pestered to order a third month but am unsure if i want to go up or stay the same. The emails get a but more pushy each time as i am (according to their systems ) overdue

Do you mind sharing which supplier you are with

GlassofRosePorfavor · 08/01/2026 15:40

@Ceci693 sure it's Oushk flexi plan

gallivantsaregood · 08/01/2026 16:06

@SilenceInside I think you're right about the confusion around term microdosing. I think the correct term for using higher than prescribed pens to take smaller doses is short-dosing.

RoundandSad · 08/01/2026 16:47

@Bulbsbulbsbulbs you take it every six weeks? Does that work?

I must've got that wrong

PurpleCoo · 08/01/2026 17:09

I switch suppliers every month. I have never been questioned about the date on my last prescription. They don't know how far in advance you ordered the last pen, they just want to check that you have been taking it without a gap.

In fairness, I only leave it a few weeks over before ordering the next one, even if I have a whole spare pen in the fridge

MarshaMarshaMarsha · 08/01/2026 19:37

Thanks all and apologies for the wrong term, I think it is what seems to have been adopted though in the world of WLI.

I'm not at maintenance yet but that's my plan long term too. I guess it only works if you can get down to 2.5mg for maintenance though otherwise they'd keep making you start again.

Sounds like Oushk. They charge £15 per month and you can then repo when you want.

gallivantsaregood · 09/01/2026 15:13

@Wholenutislife you can do the same with Pharmulous for free. They'll prescribe again within a year. Swift Dr might be within 2 yrs and also don't charge.

WeAllHaveWings · 09/01/2026 15:23

The Oushk flexi plan where you have to pay £15/month for nothing will probably be the reason I eventually leave Oushk and move to another supplier. There is no way, purely on principle, I am paying £15/month to "stay on the books". Then add to that you don't get the maintenance discount on their higher prices either. 6 months of flexi = £90 of my hard earned cash for doing nothing, then pay more than other maintenance customers for a pen 🤯 I really don't understand why they do this.

Once I have my last Oushk orders through I am planning to look into Pharmulous / Swift / Cloud which from posts on here appear to let you reorder if you have ordered in the previous 12 months with no monthly fee. It will obviously be reordering 2.5mg but I hope to be taking partial doses of that by the time I taper down further from current 3mg.

My only slight concerns is those pharmacies have not been through a GPhC inspection yet since the new guidelines next year and they may need to tighten up on how the do things now.

That’s interesting. I am considering moving so will look into that.
