I started mounjaro this week for the first time- since having the injection I’ve been sick non stop and also got diarrhoea. This is actually making me consider not continuing - any advice, or is this normal

Did you adjust your eating before you started and have you changed now? If you just keep going with high fat/high sugar foods I believe you may get a bad reaction. I would talk to your provider to get their advice.

What strength did you start on? I've been on it for a year now and carbs are not my friend at all. You'll have to adjust your eating to find what suits you and doesn't make you sick.

I would presume the OP started on 2.5mg?

My advice is to follow the advice on the patient info leaflets about managing gastric side effects. You can also delay your next injection for two or three days if necessary. You can also consider doing less than 2.5mg for your next injection if you decide to continue.

It’s not normal but is it quite common, particularly on starting the treatment and when going up a dose. Usually it settles and when you’re on a stable dose it usually doesn’t reoccur.

Quite common at first
. Stay off fatty food.
Invest in some electrolytes.. for the diarrhea as well as loperamide.
Ginger tea or capsules for the sickness.. it will pass.. l also bought peppermint oil capsules.. after 3 injections mine stopped.. a year later im 4 stone down. No side effects after the first month.. l went up to 10mg im now on 5mg for slower loss and maintenance. Good luck.
