ADHD meds and GLP-1

Is anyone here taking ADHD meds and GLP-1 please?

I’ve been using Mounjarno for nearly 2 years. Currently on 7.5mg down from 10mg. I’m 7 stones down so far. Another couple to go. Lifestyle changes in place and have endured despite many painful side effects.

I’m now titrating on ADHD meds and specifically, Xagaittin at 56mg each day. I have stomach pain, am struggling to eat food, and am finding that I am getting overly dependent upon protein shakes instead of eating properly.

I know ADHD meds will bring appetite suppression. I can’t figure out what pen to order next though? Another 7.5? Or should I drop to 5? I figured that if I go back to 5 I will still have the slow weight loss I’m getting now and, maybe, less stomach pain?

All thoughts welcomed. I’m open to ideas.

Surely the appetite suppression of the adhd meds will be sufficient to lose weight and control your food intake. I only know one person who has had a long standing weight issue but lost all the excess weight on Elvanse after diagnosis.

I am thinking about that @2026isgoingtobemyyear- it’s a possibility. Would be good to save £££ monthly and maintain. I’m concerned about the new stomach pains. They hurt! And I am worried about why I’m getting them. It’s not me being hungry etc. It feels like stomach pain. Can’t really explain it. I’m not losing lots of weight from not eating. I’m necking protein shakes and taking calories in.

Yes me. The adhd meds alone didn't do much for me weight loss wise, the mj did. Im on it for diabetes not weight loss but I was overweight before taking it by about 2 stone which quickly went and stayed off.

I was discussing side effects of weight loss medication with a clinical pharmacist only today.

She said severe stomach pains and/or pale stools could be signs of pancreatis and medical assistance should be sought urgently.

It's probably not that but might be worth bearing in mind.

good advice. I would consider having a check up. If all is well, I think it makes sense to go to 5mg and see how it goes.
