New Year's Resolutions!

Anyone want to chat about their hopes/plans/targets for the new year? How have you all done over Christmas?

I'm not going to weigh myself over the Christmas week. I haven't overdone it, but I feel like my motivation slipped a little. I'm away with relatives at the moment and it's hard to stay on track with certain things, mostly I'm drinking wine every evening (only a glass though) and not keeping on top of my water intake, which I'm normally really good at.

So home tomorrow, and my resolutions will be to get back on top of water intake, and to up my protein and fibre, and drop the carbs down a bit again. I'm on week 20, and still on 2.5 MJ. If the losses continue, great, but if I find myself stalling, I will consider going up to 5. And to get back on top of exercise again, which has been rubbish over the school holidays.

How is everyone else doing?

I have been on MJ since the end of March this year and nearly 5 and a half stone down, still losing but slowly and I think some of that is due to water intake and becoming 'lazy' with my meals. New Years resolution is to up my water intake and get back to eating clean. Hope to have a whoosh in Jan as I have 9lbs to go to get to healthy weight and 2 stone 2lbs to get to target which I wanted to do before my 1 year MJ anniversary (so ideally I will lose 2 stone in 3 months).

Not doing well off over Christmas either but neither am I as bad as I have been in previous years.
My plan is to get back on track with my losses and get on with more exercise.
Good luck everyone !

Mine are:

Maintain my weight between 10st 7 and 9st 13 for a whole year (currently 10st 5 after a lot of cake at Xmas!)

Run a marathon (signed up for one at the end of September)

Continue to decrease my MJ dose with a view to coming off completely in late summer

MJ has changed my life - I’m so so glad it decided to give it a go.

Not the greatest Christmas period here either - I won’t have lost much, if anything, for two weeks. And I’ve been drinking alcohol most days and eating crisps/ cake etc, even if I haven’t overindulged as badly as usual.

On plus side, I’ve been doing a challenge to run at least 25 mins every day in December which I have nearly completed now and feeling much fitter!

So my NYR is to carry on building up my running. I’ve been a runner on and off since my early 20s but have not been doing much regularly since 2022 when I ran the London Marathon. Running is much easier again now I’ve gone from BMI 31 to 27 (thanks to MJ which I started in early September). And now I’ve done this December challenge, it’s reminded me how good running can feel.

So I’ve entered a 10k in March and have found a half marathon for June I’m planning to enter.

NYR2 is to get back to drinking no more than 2-3 nights a week.

My weight loss resolutions are just to carry on carrying on! And to try and drink, I don't drink hardly anything other than coffee and have the constipation to prove it. So my resolution is WATER.

To reach my goal weight ( about 6lbs to go)

To maintain

To be able to run 10k

Yellowsubmarine55 · 30/12/2025 16:28

I want to reach goal - 9 lb to go, well 10 as I've put on a lb over Christmas.

I want to maintain the weight for 6 months and then get off MJ and see how I get on.

I want to increase my jogging abilities to do 5 k without dying 🤣

But mainly I just want to continue to feel fabulous in my slimmer self.

SexyFrenchDepression · 30/12/2025 16:31

Eat more fibre, continue with food as I have been but main thing is to get back to the gym properly. Have lost 1st 8lb and now exactly BMI 25, I have 1st 4 to go to get to around BMI 21/22 whichis my goal.

Weightloss is much slower now after 8 weeks so I need to concentrate on toning alongside the next stone or so and ensuing I'm not losing muscle mass. Have a sun holiday in June so want to feel good for that definitely.

Best of luck everyone, and well done with achievements so far! I feel confident we all have a great chance of fulfilling our resolutions.
