I am 12 stone, for my height I should be roughly 9 and a half. I work full time in a busy, physical and stressful job - public sector.
Which jab have you tried that really worked for you and didn’t interfere with your ability to work?

There’s only Wegovy or Mounjaro. They’re fairly similar. I have been using Mounjaro and it’s never interfered with my ability to work, albeit at a sedentary desk job.

Are you worried about gastric side effects or about tiredness, or something else? Most people don’t get any side effects or only mild manageable ones.

HappyEarl · 28/12/2025 14:08

The gastric side effects as the nearest toilet is far away 😂

I think most people have some side effects at some point due to the way the drugs work. Although some are worse than others, tiredness is a thing definitely as is being cold, as well as gastric, the only way you'll know is by trying. Maybe start when you have some holiday see how you go. The tiredness was overwhelming for me at first, but became less so as time went on.
I had a whole night of vomiting as well, plus quite bad constipation.
This was on mj BTW.

I've not really had any side effects so far (been on since beginning of November) except a bit of acid reflux which I often get anyway. I can eat and drink whatever I fancy just less of it.

I'm on 5mg mounjaro at the moment.

People talk about side effects but most people don't get any and so there's not much to say.

ithinkilikethislittlelife · 28/12/2025 18:27

I was 12 9 stones and 5ft 1 staring in January on Mounjaro . I’m now 8 9 stones and there have been no adverse side effects at all.

tobee · 28/12/2025 18:28

The things you imagine getting aren't necessarily what you'll find; you are imagining diarrhoea but you could just as easily be constipated and faraway toilets won't be a problem 😀

I've also been someone who's had zero unpleasant side effects. Coldness but that was manageable. Maybe mild constipation from time to time but that wasn't unusual for me anyway. I've been on it 16 months now and I'm maintaining on 5mg. You can only try as you just don't know how you will react.

Have a look at monj.co.uk for price comparisons.

But don’t get signed up to a subscription- there are plenty of suppliers who are competitive on price, and you can always switch to get better deals.

i’ve used Medexpress, Lotus and Bolt and all have been very quick to process and deliver.

I’ve lost almost 5 and a half stone since December 2024. No side affects until 10mg went from constipation to the opposite for 2 days, nothing since. Stuck at same weight since end of September (last jab) not lost any more or put on. Decided to start again just ordered 2.5mg still need 2.5/3 stone to get to healthy weight I have been my whole life. Did SW after each baby but illness/menopause/other stuff weight got out of control. I am so much better than this time last year. Do it!
