I started my first pen (2.5mg) nearly 5 weeks ago. A few days after my second dose my legs, feet and ankles started swelling. After 5 days I went to my GP and after ruling out anything sinister, he suspected it was due to Mounjaro.
I've had two more doses since then and the swelling has only just started to lessen but it's definitely still there.
I've been prescribed MJ by my GP as I'm diabetic and have a few weight related conditions. Luckily, I was losing weight slowly before starting MJ but I have a couple of very painful hip conditions so haven't been able to exercise much over the last few years.
When I spoke to the GPs in-house pharmacist to discuss how I'd been getting on he was concerned about increasing the dose to 5mg in case it exacerbated the swelling. Instead, he has prescribed another 2.5mg pen and we'll review when I've completed the pen.
I'm really worried they might take me off MJ. Google doesn't really suggest oedema as a side effect. Would be really interested to know if anyone else has experienced this?
Oh, my liver function and kidney blood tests have always been great and my blood pressure is in target range. GP has arranged bloods to check everything is still ok for a couple of weeks time.
