We won’t make it to Christmas without a new board.

Well done to everyone for getting this far and thank you for your company.

Here’s to a healthy and happy 2026.

@Kazzaa46 yeah I’ve also been a bit struck by looking much older/ wrinklier recently (one photo taken last week was a particularly striking example!). I have ‘only’ lost three stone - I’m about 5 foot 6/7 and now about 10 stone 10 and I’m already thinking I won’t go too much lower because of wrinkles. Though I’d like to be in the lower half of ten stone bracket to hopefully improve the flabby tummy a bit more!! I guess the self-critical voice in our heads is always going to look for something though and I suspect it is less noticeable to other people than it is to ourselves. I’ve also read a few threads on here where people have said their skin has gradually tightened up a bit once they are maintaining rather than losing, so I’m hopeful it might happen. I’m 42 for comparison.

@GhostOrchid yes also had a similar thought recently! I saw my starting photo for the pharmacy and was quite shocked - like you say, I think in my head I looked like I do now when I was nearly 14 stone, when I really didn’t!! Our minds are very good at playing tricks on us.

Not a good week for me for eating - I’ve been eating out loads and drinking beer and/ or wine nearly every night as we’ve been on holiday. Definitely still notice getting fuller quicker but I find it so hard to leave food on a plate in a restaurant! A peek at the scales looks like I’ve put on a couple of pounds but going to give it a few days to settle down once I’m back in normal routine.

I have managed to order a 7.5mg pen meanwhile though so I have the option of notching up a bit once I’ve finished my current 5mg pen if needed to get those last few pounds off to get to target. I thought I’d better try and get a bigger pen too before I reach target so I have the option of sub-dosing in maintenance and hopefully saving a bit of money.

Finally!!!
Stood on the scales this morning and I’m 10st 13.4oz.
Yippeeee. 💃💃💃

I’ve broken through the 11 stone barrier at last. Still hoping to lose another stone but this feels quite momentous. I started out at 14st 12oz and 5ft 3.

I also popped into Dunnes yesterday to buy a couple of new bras in a smaller size as I was still wearing my 42DD’s which were dreadfully baggy on the boobs, and whilst there I tried on a pink cotton blouse in a size S and it fitted. So obviously, I had to buy it. With the hanger too 😂

It doesn’t feel that long ago when I was wearing size XXL from there.
(Dunnes in Ireland is very similar to M&S but a bit cheaper in price.)

I had to post on here as I knew you guys would understand the sheer joy of reaching that milestone.

Chopsy123 · 31/05/2026 08:57

Obviously, I meant 10st 13.4lbs. Not sure why I wrote oz? 🤣🤣

SnowWhiteisMyFavourite · 31/05/2026 09:32

Well done @Chopsy123 🎉🎉 it’s such a great feeling to move from one stone bracket to another.

Love buying the hanger (presumably has an S on it?) 😁 I am wearing my new bargainous shorts grabbed from Asda when I realised my 18s were sliding straight down - these are 14s 🙃 which I last was in the 1990s…

GhostOrchid · 01/06/2026 14:06

Friday is my usual weigh in/update day, but a bit of milestone this morning. My BMI is finally below 30, at 29.8! Weight this morning was 80.15 kg.

1st June. It’s taken me pretty much eight months exactly to get here. I’m pretty chuffed with that. BMI was 40.5 when I began, so class 3 obesity. Now I am officially only overweight, I reckon for the first time in my adult life.

Chopsy123 · 01/06/2026 14:26

@GhostOrchid Wow, so you’ve lost almost 5 stones?
That’s fantastic!!! 🎉🌟💃💃

…And you’ve got the rest of the summer to enjoy being comfortable and slimmer.

Sounds like a lot of us are getting into the smaller RTW sizes now and not automatically looking for the Plus size section. 🥳🎉

SnowWhiteisMyFavourite · 03/06/2026 08:01

Midweek weigh in.. After the hot weather, half term (we went away during the first half and everything was out of routine) and another random weight gain, I've had a whoosh that takes me to 12st 1lb…drum roll, please... that’s a 100lb loss!!!! 🎉🎉🎉

I never thought I'd get this far. I've now set my final goal at 73kg (11st 7lbs). Based on BMI charts, that still leaves me in the overweight category (BMI 26.5) but I think I'll be comfortable with that. I also think it's a weight I can maintain with my new exercise routine. So, the final 5kg(ish). here we come!

Chopsy123 · 03/06/2026 08:11

Had to laugh yesterday. 🫢

A few days ago, I’d bumped into an older chap that we know socially (he’s late 70’s and a bit of a busybody type) and we’d exchanged pleasantries.

He commented on my weight loss and said he almost didn’t recognise me etc. (I was wearing a bit of make-up and probably did look fairly put together compared to years of making zero effort, so I thought it was a fair comment.)

Yesterday, he bumped into my husband and told him in all seriousness, he’d better watch out as I’ll be getting lots of offers from younger men.

FFS, I’m 60 and DH (has always been good looking and naturally stylish) is in his early 70’s. Poor DH. He didn’t know how to respond to that. 🤣🤣

Chopsy123 · 03/06/2026 08:16

@SnowWhiteisMyFavourite Blimey! 7 stones is an incredible loss. 🌟

Well done you!! 🥳 🎉💃💃💃

Enjoy your fabulous new figure and what a fantastic summer we’re all going to have! xx

GhostOrchid · 05/06/2026 11:14

Official Friday weigh in and I’m a bit up on my midweek weight at 80.5 kg but that’s still about a pound down on last Friday and BMI sticking under 30. Jab again today and really looking forward to seeing a number beginning with 7 on the scale.

SnowWhiteisMyFavourite · 05/06/2026 12:31

@GhostOrchid I know the feeling about dropping to 70s. My weight was zigzagging just above 80 for so long, it was driving me mad! It felt like my body was recalibrating and didn’t want to lose any weight. But I got there and you will get there too and it’s a great feeling! I’m 150grams from seeing 75kg. I tried extra toilet breaks this morning but the scales didn’t move..

GhostOrchid · 05/06/2026 14:13

Ha! I do the toilet trick too. Doesn’t always work.

It been a slow journey down through the 80s for sure although I had a big birthday and holiday which kind of held me up. In my head canon, 70-something kg is kind of in the realm of normal for a woman. Hopefully 75kg isn’t too far away, @SnowWhiteisMyFavourite .

Pinkbox · 06/06/2026 10:11

I’ve been up and down around the same weight for five weeks now. We had visitors in May and I put on three pounds then lost it. Went away at halfterm and put the same three back on, have now lost it! So I am back to my lowest weight since the 1990s but it’s been five weeks of faffing about as life sometimes gets in the way.

It’s scary that eating and drinking socially can do this and make the journey so much longer. I know it’s Science! It’s just a nuisance 😉

So now I am back to my final push of four more pounds to my target. It feels as though it has been in sight for months. Tonight we have a family event so I am going to jab early in readiness. Then I think I will take the advice on here and try injecting every six days to see if that helps me get to target.

Have a good weekend everyone!

Pinkbox · 06/06/2026 10:16

@GhostOrchid I also tried the toilet trick! @SnowWhiteisMyFavouritehuge congrats on hitting the 100lb target, is that since Sept?! Amazing work (I say work as people don’t think we have to do anything….) 🎉

UnimaginableWindBird · 07/06/2026 14:51

Hello everyone. I had a bit of a break from Mumsnet, but it's lovely to see how everyone here is getting on. I now have a BMI starting with 23 (and ending with .9, which is less impressive) and have less than a stone to lose before hitting my "unachievable" goal weight. I'm generally a size 12/medium in most shops. And I'm having trouble getting my head around the idea that soon I'll have to change to change from losing weight to maintaining and working more on building muscle and fitness.

@OneDayIWillLearn that's a good idea about the 7.5 mg pen. I'll order a 5 for next time, but might consider a higher dose for the final stretch to allow the possibility of stretching out a pen. I might arrange a maintenance consultation with Pharmulous once I hit a BMI of 23 so that I have a plan in place

Chopsy123 · 10/06/2026 20:02

I ordered a 5mg pen from my usual supplier this week and it’s the new style with no golden dose. 😭

Luckily, I still have a stash of the old style pens so I’m hoping I’ll be on a maintenance dose by the time I need the latest pen.

maz99 · 11/06/2026 10:27

Hi everyone... hope you're all well.
I've been busy with life and getting on with things.

In the last week of April I finally got under 100kg (started at 121.4kg).

I'm still taking 7.5mg from a 15mg pen every 6 days - 7 weeks and 3kg loss so far.

My weekly average is 0.5kg / 1.1lb which I'm happy with because I'm trying to minimise any loose skin, which seems to be working.

I started heavy weightlifting (overload) at home 6 weeks ago using adjustable dumbbells, because I didn't think the the pump & kettlebell classes at the gym were enough.

I'm starting to see results as I'm still 97kg / 214lbs and nearly a size 16. I'm fitting in to my old smaller clothes at a heavier weight.

I did a scan yesterday... hadn't done one since March... the comparison us good to see.

Congratulations to everyone on your progress! It’s nice to read everyone’s stories, in RL it can be a bit tricky to celebrate because GLPs are still so ‘taboo’ despite half the population being on them. I’ve just seen on the news about the tablet form of Wegovy being available very soon, it’s private only now but hopefully will be on the NHS eventually. What do we all think? I’d be so happy if MJ had an equivalent. Has anything been said about its effectiveness in tablet form?

I’m currently on 10mg, so expensive but I stayed on 7.5mg for longer than I should have and my weight loss really stalled. I’ve done a month on 10mg and lost around 5lbs, it’s hard to get used to the slowing down and it’s quite frustrating. I seem to fluctuate with a pound or 2 all week before it settles on a 1lb loss but I’ll take it. I actually dread to think where I’d be without MJ, a year ago I was dreading summer and now it’s something I’m looking forward to.

I just wish it was a bit faster! I’m working towards our holiday which is August 3rd, I don’t think I’ll have a lost the full amount by then but I’m going to give it a good go.

SW 18 stone 6lb (19 stone 11lb)
CW. 12 stone 12lb
Target: 11 stone
Loss: 5 stone 8lb (6 stone 12lb)
1 stone 12lbs left to go

Chopsy123 · 12/06/2026 07:47

@UnimaginableWindBird I think all the 5mg pens are the new style, no golden dose pens now. They’re slowly introducing the new style pens in all the sizes but you might be better off ordering the 7.5mg pen instead, if it still has the golden dose?

@maz99 @familyornot Congratulations on your amazing progress. 🎉🌟

Yes, when I think about this time last year and dreading being huge on my big roundy birthday holiday, I’m sad that I hadn’t discovered MJ earlier. I would have been much happier having my photo taken, for a start. 😂

Somethingsnapped · 12/06/2026 15:00

I don't post very often, but I love reading everyone's updates and about all the super progress! Massive well done everyone. Summer is here (kind of!) and I bet we all enjoy it more this year.

I'm not too far from my goal. I'm about 12 st 2 lbs at the moment, so just a few lbs off officially healthy weight (I'm 5'8"). My target is about 11 st 7lbs. I'm still on 2.5 mg, and losing about half a pound to a pound a week. I only weigh myself every two weeks at the moment.

Feeling pretty good about myself, but my brain doesn't always co-operate, and I can't quite see myself properly. I used to think I looked smaller than I was, and now I think I look bigger than I am. Other people whose dress size I know, and who are the same size as me, look very slim to me,but I still feel like I look quite big. Sometimes. Not all the time. How do others feel about this ?

SnowWhiteisMyFavourite · 13/06/2026 05:14

@Somethingsnapped

That’s interesting what you say about body image and how we see ourselves. I’m 11st 13lbs now (down from 19st 2lbs), and I struggle with this.
I was sorting out old photos this week and now realise how big I was, but I didn’t see it at the time. My face especially looks so bloated that it made me sad. At the time, I never saw that in the mirror. Somehow, I hope my husband would have been more candid about how I looked over the last few years, but he would never have said anything.

I can now comfortably fit into size 14 clothes. But again, it’s hard to appreciate it. I bought myself a jumpsuit a while ago and when I tried it on, my daughter said, “Wow, you look like a different person, mum.” That felt nice but also sad. I do find myself watching “normal” sized people and wondering what size clothes they’re wearing. I would love to ask so I could validate my own size.

GhostOrchid · 13/06/2026 16:36

Incredible weight loss @SnowWhiteisMyFavourite!!

I had a non-typical Friday yesterday which meant I missed Pilates and my usual weigh in (had to leave the house v early to go somewhere for work). But I’ve been weighing throughout the week and had got down to 79.4. This morning I was 79.7. Was out for cocktails on Thursday which probably hasn’t helped but I’m happy enough with that. It’s good to be in the 70s, even if only just.

OneDayIWillLearn · 14/06/2026 08:25

Well I actually got my target weight
when I stepped on the scales yesterday morning. I started at 13 stone 10lbs back in October, so that’s 3 stone and 3 lbs down, bringing me from BMI 30.5 to BMI 23.1. Now I’m here it’s strangely underwhelming though! I’m fully expecting my weight to carry on fluctuating so I’m sure I’ll be above target again in a couple of days. Plus I now think my aim is to try and settle a couple of lbs below 10 stone 7lbs for maintenance. But nonetheless, I’m trying to take a moment to feel positive! I’d spent the last decade (since getting pregnant with my eldest) without having a healthy BMI for more than a couple of weeks, and the majority of the time BMI over 30. And I actually don’t think I’ve weighed as low as 10 stone 7lbs EVER as an adult.

Big time relate to what you’re saying @Somethingsnapped !! I think that’s part of my underwhelmed feeling. I still feel I look pretty big and reflecting that this is the thinnest I’ve ever been makes me think how bad I must have looked most of the time! Also shocked to look at photos from last year or even earlier this year and see how big I looked then (I really didn’t see myself as that big - I thought I ‘carried it well’!!). My face looks so puffed up!

I think part of what I need to do now is focus on clothes as I haven’t bought much since starting to lose so I don’t have much I feel really good in. I’m tempted to reinvent my style a bit (nothing major, but maybe wear styles I haven’t had the confidence to before or something!). But anyway, trying to move away from the baggy old stuff and give away or sell things that are just too big.

September 25 starters - new year, new trousers.

Yes, I do that! Trying to guess how other women's sizes relate to my own. I think I might be quite far out.

Congratulations on your incredible weight loss!
