5mg stopped working but 7.5mg feels like too much - any experience with this?

I’ve been on 7.5mg of MJ for around the last 4 months. I upped the dose after 3 months on 5mg and in the last few weeks of 5mg, just felt hungry all the time.

7.5mg suited me fine at first but for the past month, I’ve just had low grade nausea all the time every time I see an ad for food or think about food. At first you’d think this wouldn’t be a problem but if you think about how much food (and adverts for it) is part of our culture/daily life, it means I feel pukey a lot.

I’m eating good protein and veg etc but eating just feels like a chore. I’m reaping the benefit of that by losing weight but I don’t like this feeling, so thinking of going back to 5mg. Has anyone else done this and even though the lower dose stopped working, second time around, did it have any impact? Not really quite sure what to do - whether to drop a dose or just persevere with this till my weight is gone (another 2.5 stone to go).

When you say 5mg had stopped working, had you actually stopped loosing weight on it?

Or you could do a dose in between 5 and 7.5mg to ease the transition? 6.25mg?

I was still losing weight but I was so hungry! It felt like it did before MJ - where I was hungry and as a consequence, just thinking about food all the time. I figured there was no point in paying for it if I was no better off.

If you're actively loosing weight, then the hunger is simply telling you to eat a little more.

I went up a dose due to reducing appetite suppression (and feeling like i 'had' to be on 2.5mg as i was taking 1.25mg), had side effects (constipation and lack of energy), dropped back down to 1.875mg, ate more (specifically carbs), plateaued for 3 weeks but didn't regain, and had loads more energy for life and exercise, then the weight started falling off again at 1lb a week since.

Listen to you body, eat healthily, and give it a go. Also consider an in-between dose.

You'll probably find that you'll adapt to 7.5mg over time. But there's always the option of counting clicks and taking an in between dose.
I have low grade nausea on and off from time to time and it is quite unpleasant to deal with. Fortunately mine tends to be more off than on and is usually just a couple of days a week. I also couldn't deal with it all the time.

I’ve just moved to 7mg as 5 ‘stopped working’ - the hunger pangs came back
The first week on 7 I was still the same
But now after 12 days on 7, I’m beginning to feel the low grade nausea (which I’m ok with)
I only have less than 1/2 stone to go - have lost 4 stone

It’s a big jump between 5mg and 7.5mg, why not titrate up slowly?

The low grade nausea continues so last night I was looking it up and some studies suggest that once you lose weight, the existing dose you’re on might be too much for your smaller body. I’ve lost 3 stone and am also quite petite (5.1ft). Although I’ve been fine on 7.5mg, this past 4-6 weeks has been really yuck so I have one more shot in my existing pen and will do 5mg instead of 7.5mg. I want suppression but I also want to enjoy my food again instead of forcing myself to eat.

At the moment, the thought of food at all just makes me feel sick. My stomach will rumble so I’ll go and eat something but it’s a real chore and even this week with work Christmas lunches, I was dreading it as the thought of being surrounded by food was very off putting. Sooo, it’s back down to 5mg I go. If that’s not enough, I’ll tinker with an in-between dose of 6mg.

Thought it was interesting that some people find they have to go down a dose (even though they’re still losing weight) as their smaller sized body doesn’t like a higher dose.
