Hi Everyone 👋

I'm really looking to start medicated weight loss. I've looked at juniper. Could someone tell me what the difference is between Wegovy and Mounjaro?

Does Juniper and other medicated weight loss programs ACTUALLY work?

Also what other weight loss like juniper are there and are they legit?

Sorry if any of this hag been covered i did search but couldn't find what i was looking for.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer me with my journey. 🙏

I just posted this on the other thread that you posted on....

@SargesMissus this guide from Asda Online Doctor is a useful article that explains what Wegovy and Mounjaro are, and what the differences are:

https://onlinedoctor.asda.com/uk/wegovy-vs-mounjaro-vs-ozempic.html

Juniper is a subscription-based service where they will automatically charge you every 4 weeks and send out another injection pen, unless you manually cancel or change the order. Worth knowing before you sign up. There are a couple of other subscription-based services that operate in a similar way. They are often more expensive than ordinary online pharmacies that offer weight loss prescriptions. I personally don't think that the "programmes" they offer are really worth paying a premium for. Often it's just AI chat bots and things like including a set of scales with your first order.

Mounjaro and Wegovy are proven to work, via the clinical trials that have been carried out. You don't need to sign up to a service like Juniper for them to work. There are very many other online pharmacies who will do an online consultation and then prescribe you weight loss medication. There is a price comparison site called Monj (https://monj.co.uk) which lists many of them. All the ones listed there are GPhC registered and regulated, so they will be "legit". The medication is the same wherever you get it prescribed from, so personally I look for the good deals rather than ones that offer subscriptions or additional services.
You also don't have to stick to the same provider every month. You can choose a different supplier and move to get a better deal if you want. It's easy enough to do.

Juniper is quite pricey. I'm not convinced that the extra "support" is worth it. I've been using Asda online doctor to buy mounjaro and I'm pretty happy with the service provided. You can get even cheaper than Asda, but I like the click and collect facility. As for the difference between wegovy and mounjaro, there is a lot online about that. Basically, mounjaro works on an Extra hormone than mj, so mj is more effective in clinical trials. However, since the price increase, wegovy is a lot more affordable. If cost is an issue it would be worth trying wegovy first to see if you get on with it.

I used Voy for the first couple of months. They had good starter offers. I liked the initial support in case I had any issues or side effects. I also liked the philosophy of a balanced plate rather than calorie counting etc. Their AI meal assessment and their AI chat bot are both fabulous too. It was a bit like a combination of a diet club, like slimming world or weight watchers, combined with a pharmacy. However after a couple of months I didn’t think it justified the higher prices, so I decided to move to a cheaper supplier just before the price rises and have jumped around since. But I still use Voy’s app to record my journey.

Juniper are one of the more expensive providers. I use medicine marketplace as they’re one of the cheapest and I’ve been really happy with their service. I’m on Mounjaro which is more expensive than wegovy but also more effective: I’ve lost almost 13 stone so far, after being obese my entire life, so I would say yes, it definitely works!

I think it's worth considering what sort of support you need. I believe there is quite a lot of support from Juniper, hence the price point. These additional support suppliers have apps, nutritional advice, clinical check ins and so on. For some people, this makes all the difference.

You might be more like me, who doesn't really want extra support. Just the bare bones jabs and I get on with the rest alone. I know what I should be eating, I just need to limit the amount!

For that sort of service (just the jabs) you can pay less and there are cheaper, very good suppliers. As well as Monj look at https://click.compare/ - it covers Mounjaro and Wegovy. If you opt for Wegovy it's cheaper, but many people seem to prefer Mounjaro. The CC lists are ordered by review score, but you can also sort by price. My advice is to look at the average price and pick someone with one of the lowest, but with a high review score.

Good luck. I am on MJ and it's been a huge success for me. Slowly but surely weight I haven't shifted for years has gone 👍

You’ll get a lot of support on these boards if you don’t have easy access to an in-person GP appointment.

Consider joining the WLI (weight loss injections) new starter thread for December ‘25 or look out for the January one, (probably appear in late December), if you want to wait until after Christmas to start.

Might be worth delaying starting until January if you’re having a busy Christmas as you don’t want to be worrying about what to eat and dealing with any minor side effects.

If you're looking for a guide for a starter, I would suggest you to look at monj, the price comparison site, it's very helpful re prices and best deals, you'll find also exclusive deals from only legit providers, I trust this website with my heart, just google "monj" and you'll find all what you need re jabs there.

Edited

That website is a scam to get people to use one pharmacy it hides all the best deals people should beware
Igovy.co.uk shows wegovy with real deals, not only one company

If you want support, it's likely to be helpful, however most of it's gimmick, so question is it worth the extra each month? Probably not
