I'm starting Wegovy today too. I've got 4 stone to lose. Good luck!

Rugby7777 · 01/12/2025 07:45

@Cosyslippers2019 Good luck as well. Hope the side effects are not too bad.

Rugby7777 · 01/12/2025 09:47

@Mariocatgran Good luck as well. I’m starting on 0.25mg. I don’t eat a lot in the day & dont tend to really snack so I’m going to see how I go.

Wondering what the cost of Wegovy is in UK.
Australia here. I’ve had one dose. Feeling sick, dry retching, can’t stand the smell of food.
If I continue it will cost $400 a month.
Not sure if the sick feeling will go away. Definitely lost appetite.

Mariocatgran · 01/12/2025 11:31

@KoalaBlue1hi i just got a 1 month of 0.5 it was £119

StrongGirlsLift · 01/12/2025 12:59

Hopping on here - good luck all!

I started Wegovy with Voy on Friday. I had wonderful appetite suppression almost immediately but am feeling hungrier with a headache (I’m prone to them) today.

I am veggie and lost a chunk of weight on VLCD earlier this year, but put a lot back on due to knee injury and not being able to walk/walk far, or train. I’ve lost weight so many times over the past 15 years though haven’t been in a healthy BMI range basically since I was twenty and training twice a day. I do weights and a team sport (when not injured). How is everyone else setting up - food plans in place?

Really hoping to get into the mid healthy BMI range, maintain muscle, and lift some of the load on my joints (it’s amazing how much easier it is to run when lighter - you can be 15 seconds faster per mile just for being a kilo lighter! Hoping to experience that at some stage.)

Feeling a bit spaced with the headache today, but I had some veg and pearly barley soup and grated some spicy tofu (dry fried) on top for extra protein.

Hi there- I started this thread if you want to hop on/ or we can join your one.. I’m not precious! Be great to hear more experiences. I’m now on day 3 & still getting my head round eating half the normal amount of food I’d usually consume without feeling hungry!!! It’s miraculous. https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/weight-loss-injections/5451424-december-25-starters-thread?utm_campaign=thread&utm_medium=app_share

I’ve just got my first pen delivered today but am now debating whether or not to start it or wait till after Christmas???

StrongGirlsLift · 01/12/2025 22:27

Your call, obviously, but my thinking was: why wait until after Christmas if it means I’ll have more weight to lose in January? Some help with limiting overconsumption is super welcome, and I think most people with side effects feel them a little later in the process.

Ask me again at Christmas though - I might be crying over a plate of mince pies 😂.

Rugby7777 · 03/12/2025 08:27

How’s everyone doing so far. Any side effects?
I started on Monday, I have just been feeling very tired but yesterday I could hardly eat anything. I only had 2 biscuits in the morning and a baguette for lunch. I couldn’t face have anything else to eat. But I have been drinking a lot more water.

Rugby7777 · 03/12/2025 09:51

@Mariocatgran im not looking to loose too much, looking at 2 stone. I have been on orlistat and only lost 10lb and I seemed to plateau then so now trying Wegovy.

Mariocatgran · 04/12/2025 07:57

@Rugby7777good morning Orislat isnt the best I was on that for a while yesterday I felt really hungry and had a cornetto and a Bueno last night and dont feel very good about it now wish I hadn't but thays life I have a long day ahead I have childrens panel regarding my SGS later amd not looking forward to that

Rugby7777 · 04/12/2025 08:45

@Mariocatgran ive woke up hungry today. I did have a small chocolate last night. I’m also trying to calorie count as well. So the last couple of days my calorie intake has been between 1078-1285.

OP posts:
Mariocatgran · 04/12/2025 12:49

@Rugby7777 I run after the SGS so much i eat on the go so its hardly ever a meal I think thats why im so hungry at night

Rugby7777 · 13/12/2025 17:44

How’s everyone been getting on

OP posts:
Cosyslippers2019 · 17/12/2025 07:26

TBH it's having no effect on me whatsoever. No side effects, my appetite is exactly the same, it's doing nothing as far as I'm concerned. I'll do my 4th jab of Wegogy 2.5 on Monday then I move up to 5 so I'll persevere and see what happens.

Mariocatgran · 17/12/2025 20:09

@Cosyslippers2019hi im eating like hell on 0.5 I do the last 1 on Friday but cant afford another for a few weeks

cobblers00 · 17/12/2025 20:59

From what I can see on these threads, wegovy at lower doses is less effective than mourjano?? I hope it kicks in at 5 for you!

Rugby7777 · 17/12/2025 22:40

@Cosyslippers2019 @Mariocatgran @cobblers00 I feel im
doing well at the moment I’m on 0.25 and I’m not looking for snacks or anything. I’m loosing approximately 2lbs a week so I’m happy with that. I’m also calorie counting along side the Wegovy.

OP posts:
Cosyslippers2019 · 03/01/2026 14:06

I've had my second jab of Wegovy 5 and I still feel it's having no effect at all.

I don't know whether to keep going or chance a switch to mounjaro-I can't really afford it if I'm honest. I was thinking it's so selfish I could be saving that money every month and take the kids on holiday. But then I'd be fat in all the holiday photos!

Mariocatgran · 03/01/2026 14:59

@Cosyslippers2019mounjaro was great for me but I couldn't afford it any longer so im on wegovy and its rubbish
