Is there one yet? If not, should this be it? I’m starting tonight, so officially November, but hey! Am so nervous, woke up early this morning with anxiety. Would love tips from anyone who has started before on what / how to eat on first few days..I’m really concerned about debilitating side effects- should you just listen to your body or force yourself to eat chicken?! I keep seeing all these insta posts about eating protein!!

@ViciousChicken I have been struggling with the loo a bit too. I just bought Dulcolax but was then too nervous to try it! The packaging says try Dulcoease first. I already eat flax seeds and chia seeds and normally drink loads of water (I have dropped off the last couple of days while visiting family). I’m pretty good with veg and fruit for fibre too, and exercise. Coffee, kiwi, etc have had no impact. At first I thought there just wasn’t as much to clear from my body, but now wondering if my weight loss stall could be from constipation. Really interested to hear what others are doing!

@BelleEpoque27 I’m so with you - really enjoyed my Christmas without having to “manage” my food intake constantly and worry about how much I’d have to do in January to shift it. I appreciate my food much more at the moment. I do feel leaner in parts of my body too, much less bloated.

Hello all! Great to catch up with how everyone’s handled Xmas & welcome to newcomers! I bet the Jan starters thread will be booming!!! I’m just back from a few days away where eating was mainly at pubs & service stations. So nutrition has gone out the window.. but quantities have been small.. as a result no loss on the scales this morning but do feel tighter & leaner too.. not got the tape measure out but clothes def feel looser. I’m on wk 1 of second .25mg mj pen. The suppression isn’t as intense but it’s enough for now & I really hope I can stay on it next month too as side effects are minimal.. the toilet situation is much better here, prob due to the increase on carbs I’ve had since not home cooking. Keeping up with gym & all in all feel really positive about heading into new year & achieving my goal weight by the spring. My biggest challenge is re-educating my palette & habits to enjoy a protein rich healthy diet long term without medication.
Here’s to a slimmer 2026!

I’ve definitely had a slow down @StrongGirlsLift! I saw my amazing GP today for an unrelated issues and she was the one who encouraged me to go for it with MJ. She recommended laxido as it takes water from the bowel and said ‘whatever you do stay away from senna as it will plug you up’ giving a sachet a try today. It’s safe long term so if I need it I’m ok with it.

So took my first Mounjaro injection 2.5 on Saturday, was ok until I had half a glass of red wine yesterday. Big mistake , had sulphur burps and felt sick all night. Does anyone know if this will happen with all alcohol?

I like a drink and still do, 5 jabs in - unfortunately.
No effects.

Here I am, a bit late to the party. I started end of Nov and increased to 5mg on Xmas day. Appetite suppression is a lot stronger on 5mg than on 2.5mg, I'm wondering if I should have stuck at 2.5 or moved to 3.75mg instead... My food habits have not improved so that's something I need to work on once we are back to a work routine. I haven't lost as much as others I'm sure but it's coming off. I have a bit of a psychological block at 75kg (ie I've got to 75kg several times before but always run out of steam soon afterwards) so this will only seem real once I'm below there I guess.

ArtesianWater · 30/12/2025 15:13

I took my third 2.5 jab yesterday but have had two breaks to accommodate lifestyle (including Christmas) so these have been over about five weeks. I'm not seeing any real results yet but that's obviously why. I do feel incredibly tired today though. I had great suppression in week one and now not so much, but am hoping it will return if I stay consistent!

StrongGirlsLift · 30/12/2025 15:20

Welcome @Lovingthelighterevenings - I too have a huge block at a specific weight - summer 2025 was the fourth time in 15 years I have reached that low weight and no lower. Really, really hoping to breeze right through it, but feeling stalled this week. Good luck all!

@Wishfulshrinker25 Hello! Yes, I’m 5 weeks in on WeGovy, having a good experience though I have plateaued a bit recently. How are you getting on?

Hey @StrongGirlsLift! I took 1mg for the first time on Sunday and had cramps and a dodgy tummy in the night after a big Christmas like meal yesterday 😱 I was talking to my sister about side effects and weight loss and said so far I feel quite underwhelmed, so hoping this month of 1mg makes a difference, although I would happily not have a night like last night again..! X

user1479317972 · 31/12/2025 08:13

Hi I started MJ on Saturday at 2.5 and I’ve lost 7lb already. This seems a lot is this normal? Have been eating mostly healthy foods and even had Chinese last night although just had a starter. I’m considering staying on 2.5 for another month if is shows good results, has anyone done this ?

TheMentalMentalLoad · 31/12/2025 08:15

I think it’s really normal. I’m on week one of WG and have lost 4lb already. I’ve done loads of diets and always lose a lot in week 1. It’s water and bloat.

does your provider offer any sort of coaching? I’m with Voy and they do and said this sort of loss is normal aT this stage.

StrongGirlsLift · 31/12/2025 08:31

@Wishfulshrinker25 ooh yes, I think side effects can really kick in if they coincide with bigger meals/indulgent meals, from what I’ve read. Hope you feel better soon!

I also feel underwhelmed, but I think initial loss depends massively on starting weight and your normal lifestyle. My app (Voy) says most people lose most weight between weeks 8-16. I’m in week five. Oh, and, I often gain a few pounds in December so very glad not to see that this year! And a lot of long term users on other threads say their average is 1-2lbs a week over 6-12 months, whatever their starting weight. It’s a long term commitment!
Good luck us.

Wow that is a lot, do you have a lot to lose? I lost most in wk 1 (3-4lb) now steadying off around 1-2lb a week but I’m trying to up my food intake as really don’t want to lose muscle. You might find it calms down a bit in the next few weeks. How many calories are you consuming each day?

Hi no only about 2-3 stone to lose. I’ve put it on due to cancer treatment and early menopause. I weight train 3 -4 times a week so very conscious about muscle loss and trying to keep my protein intake high. I’m not counting calories at the moment just trying to make healthier choices .

Anyone else getting quite a bit of nausea?
I had 3rd jab on Sunday, and the fatigue and nausea are still kicking my arse a bit.
Nausea a bit better today than yesterday, but ive been soooo tired still.
Last 2 weeks were pretty similar, and I expect the next couple of days to be a little easier, then I'll jab again on Sunday and wait and see if I carry on with the same pattern to my tolerance gets better?
Anyone any tips?

MissBridgetJones · 31/12/2025 18:15

I started end of October, I haven't found my people yet, so hoping I can join you?

The thing I am struggling with is actually eating enough. I think that's where the obsession with protein comes in.

I'm 7.6 kilos down. I did 2.5 for a month and then upped to 5 which I'm sticking with for at least 8 weeks, maybe more.

Weigh day was yesterday and I stayed same Xmas week. I probably didn't eat much more than previous weeks, but wine and cheese!

Week 3 was the worst for nausea for me. It has got better since.

Florrieboo · 31/12/2025 21:34

I did my 3rd 2.5 jab on Tuesday night, I lost 1.1kg over the previous week which I was really happy with. I lost 3kg over 2 weeks and have not felt deprived at all. That deprived feeling is what usually ruins it for me when I "diet" I have always used food as a treat or a reward for a good or bad day, this is very different for me.
I have developed some other unrelated health issues which mean I will have to have an operation in a few months time and for that it is also important that I lose the weight so I am doubly focused now.
I really want to have Mcdonalds with my daughter today, it was always our plan to watch the final stranger things and have a McDonalds. She doesn't know I am on weight loss meds so I think maybe I will just have a burger and small fries and see how I go. I have been eating very clean and healthy, still haven't even considered a piece of chocolate since the day I started, probably the longest time in my life since I started eating that I haven't had any.

Are you all planning on using the golden dose? I have one more legit dose and it is so expensive I don't want to throw product away.

I’m on week 1! Weird question and haven’t googled it yet but is anyone else feeling intense anger? It might just be a combination of seeing family over the holidays or it might be the jab but since taking it I feel unable to control my emotions. Anyone else feel this too?

Hi there & welcome. No intense anger here, but that was a thing before i sorted out those hormones with HRT! How old are you? It is a difficult time so I imagine it’s more to do with the season than the wegovy.

Hi @MissBridgetJones yes, we can be your people!! Great to have someone with more experience too. I’ve not moved up a dose yet- 5 wks on 2.5 mj- but loss is stalling.. not necessarily due to increased appetite, more eating the wrong foods so will see how I go next couple weeks before deciding to do month 3 on the same dose or to go up. Really don’t want more side effects.

Intense anger? No, I’m afraid that is likely just to be your relatives and Christmas.
My DS is going home Saturday after 2 weeks. Love him but can’t wait 😆

BelleEpoque27 · 01/01/2026 18:42

No intense anger here, in fact I feel noticeably happier most days. I've also found my PMT is less - just started my second period while on MJ and I barely noticed it until it started.

It can cause anxiety though (which is something I was really worried about as I struggle with anxiety), so I'd just see how things go.

Florrieboo · 01/01/2026 20:15

No intense anger for me either but no intense feelings of any kind, I might be a bit flat since I started but it could just be that I am currently on holidays after a pretty intense last term at work and just needing to totally decompress.

Lovingthelighterevenings · 01/01/2026 21:33

So I am due my 6th jab tonight - first pen was 2.5mg, weightloss was around 0.5kg/week which I'm fine with - side effects weren't too bad, appetite was mildly depressed. The second pen is 5mg by default, and I've had one jab from it (Xmas day) - appetite completely suppressed (first two days I had a slice of toast and not much else), and I have been feeling more nauseous. I'm due to jab tonight and my appetite is still tiny.

So I'm wondering if I should count clicks and try 3.75mg this week? Any thoughts?
