Thread for those sticking on 2.5mg

I’d really like to stick with 2.5 if possible. I don’t mind if I lose a bit slower.
On week 6 now and the symptoms have definitely subsided - I felt totally wiped out the first month. I have lost a stone, so happy to slow down a bit.
Anyone else trying the same?

Week 9 on 2.5mg and steading losing weight. I am barely able to eat 1000 calories a day so I intend on staying on 2.5mg.

KilliMonjaro · 25/11/2025 20:04

Same!

I did 14 weeks on 2.5mg, with hindsight the effects started wearing off gradually from about week 11 or 12. But I lost about 20kg in that time so it was definitely working. I'm now on 3.75mg and am back to how I felt at the beginning of 2.5mg, not planning on going up any time soon.

I’m planning on staying on 2.5mg for the foreseeable. I’ve been on MJ for 6 weeks now and have lost a stone, with good suppression and hardly any side effects. Hope it will stay that way!

That’s interesting to know thanks for sharing. I have about 20kg to loose so would be delighted if I could shift it all at 2.5.

I've been on 2.5mg for 5 months. Currently down 16kg. Sometimes I have a week where I think I need to increase the dose. But I stick it out and the following week I realise I don't actually need to, it's still working well and things are under control. I also have plateaus. But I stick to 2.5mg and always start losing again. I think the longest was 3 weeks of maintaining then a sudden drop.

Oh that’s really good to hear. Thank you. And congratulations on your loss!! 🙌🙌🙌

I'm not averse to moving up in the future, and I definitely feel closer to my pre-MJ "normal" than I did in the first month, but I've done 12 weeks of 2.5mg so far and lost 32lb , so I'm planning to stick with this dose until it stops working.

That is what I’m thinking. The first month was hard! Am starting to feel a bit more normal now. As in, I now have the energy to go to the gym and eat nearer to 1000 calories of a day.

I am on week 16 - still on 2.5 with suppression and no cravings. Have lost 2 stone 3ib. I have about a stone to go now and not going to be increasing!

UnimaginableWindBird · 27/11/2025 06:16

I had kind of the opposite experience in that I felt amazing for the first month with really high energy levels and the ability to eat small meals but not snack, and I had no headaches or joint pain and I was sleeping better and had more even moods - it was as though all my perimenopause nibbles vanished! But now I think they are creeping back a bit.

I’m 8 months on 2.5 and have lost almost 3 stone and now at goal weight which I reached about a month ago. There seems to be a natural plateau around 6 months whatever mg dose) you are on (from experience on the April starters group) and then some steadying and lower losses. I’m losing about 1/2lb a week now which is fine as I’m just getting to a BMI which has a little headroom (currently 23.5).

If it’s working then no need to increase and I’m hoping it will be less of an impact coming off for maintenance 🤞

I like the idea of leaving a buffer for coming off. Seems sensible.

im on week 4 of 2.5 and I have lost 6kg .
ive had no side effects and I’m not intending to up my dose while it’s working.

temproasted · 30/11/2025 19:22

I’ve never gone above 2.5 and lost nearly 2 stone now. I have recently started decreasing to 1.25! The first week I still felt the effects but now I’m on week 2 I do feel the food noise coming back a bit. I guess there’s very little in my system now. (I know this isn’t medically advised but I’m taking an informed risk by taking a small amount which isn’t as per the prescription)

JabbaJibba · 30/11/2025 19:56

I did 35 weeks on 2.5 and lost 72lb, I've now got 5mg pens but have decided to do 40 clicks, so about 3.3, this is the 2nd week. I've still got another 2.5 stone to go, I have noticed my water and veg intake have reduced recently, so there is still plenty of wiggle room to get me back on track and to target without needing to go up any further.

Yellowsubmarine55 · 30/11/2025 21:52

I'm on week 34 or 35 on 2.5 and am 4lb away from 5 stone. I feel fantastic and started having no intention of going up. It's the calorie deficit that makes you lose weight, not the dose so be mindful of sticking to your calories and you'll be fine.

Suppression comes and goes but I absolutely hate it when I have it, I just feel 🤢. Very few side effects and mainly just getting full earlier.

Somethingsnapped · 30/11/2025 22:28

I'm just about to start week 16 and I'm still on 2.5. I've lost 2 stone. I'm not getting much suppression anymore, but I'm still losing about 1 lb a week, so I'll stick on it as long as possible. I want to lose about another stone.

KilliMonjaro · 30/11/2025 22:45

Amazing work everyone! Thanks for sharing 🙌
