Changing mounjoro dose help

Hi all, i have been on mj for 9 months and have lost a pound a week fairly consistently until the last couple of weeks. I have noticed lately that I am hungrier and struggling to resist temptation. I have moved up the doses slowly and have recently been approved to move up to 10mg. I still have a full 7.5 pen, and I would like to up my dose a little each week until thats empty and I can start the 10. So my question is, instead of taking my 6ml dose of 7.5 mg tomorrow, can I take 7mls? Is taking an extra ml a problem? I dont feel that it should be, but is there something I haven't considered?

So, it's not 6ml or 7ml, it's 0.6ml or 0.7ml. A normal full dose administered via the pen is always 0.6ml whatever strength the pen is. 0.7ml from a 7.5mg pen would be a dose of 8.75mg.

To do a 0.7ml dose, you would either need to do two injections from the pen, or you would need to use separate syringes to extract 0.7ml. Do you have separate syringes?

Sorry yes .7mls is what I mean. Yes I have syringes i use for the extra dose. 8.75 would be perfect I think, 7.5 isn't really cutting it any more unfortunately, especially with Christmas and its many temptations on the horizon. Thanks so much, I was having trouble doing the math.

@Deadringerjust do 0.7/0.6ml x 7.5mg =8.75mg. Substitute the 0.7ml for any other volume you wish, to see what the final mg of a dose would be from your 7.5mg pen. As PP said it’s just ratios starting from one whole dose always being 0.6ml volume (60units on a typical syringe).

mg, milligrams, is the mass of actual Mounjaro contained in your taken dose.

ml, millilitres, is the volume of fluid injected.

every Mounjaro kwik pen has one dose if its labelled ‘strength’ (eg 7.5mg) in each 0.6ml of fluid. The calculation never changes.

Thanks, I did struggle to figure out the amount so that really helps, but also I know people change their doses around and take the so called golden dose too, it was more the volume of the .7mls, or .8mls i was concerned about, i just wasn't sure if injecting an extra ml or too was ok, I know that sounds silly.

If you think about it, your prescriber has approved you a 10mg pen, so they are happy for you to increase your dose by 2.5mg. Doing a smaller increase of 1.25mg is therefore well within what your prescriber is happy for you to increase by.

Thanks @SilenceInside and @monjmaintainer that is really helpful. Cheers
