Hi guys

I've lost 8 stone currently on wegovy. Got another 2.5 stone to hit my goal weight.

If anyone has any questions on it please let me know :) xx

What’s your face like after the WL? I’ve lost a large amount of weight too but over a much longer period of time. I have thought about using WLI to get the last bit off but am concerned about my face card disappearing.

I'd like to think my face looks fine 😅

I prefer it more now than when it was very round. I'm 30 so its bounced back pretty much the same. The eye bags are from the children.

How many calories are you eating per day? Congratulations on the loss by the way.

Thank you :)

I'm eating 1000kcal per day which i know is not a lot but I eat a lot of vegetables, chicken, salad etc. I was on about 1500 when I started.

Don't think ill be able to maintain this but when I get to my goal weight ill slowly go back up to 1500 and stay there and see how that treats me.

Thank you for the answer. 👍I think you have done incredibly well, creating a calorie deficit enough to get the weight off is not easy.

First of all, congratulations on your fantastic weight loss. 8 stone off since end of March is amazing.

How old are you? Asking because I started at the same time but haven’t lost anywhere near as much. I’m in my early 50s so it’s quite slow progress for me.

Perimenopop · 24/11/2025 14:50

Ahh ignore my question about your age, I’ve caught up on the full thread and saw you are 30 😊.

Piccalillibs · 24/11/2025 21:51

That's amazing. Well done x

I’ve lost 4.5 stone, still got quite a way to go, probably another 6 stone. It’s going to be a long journey

Aweekoffwork · 25/11/2025 07:42

Congratulations!

It sounds like the motivating factors were:

wanting to be fit enough to run around after your kids
protecting your health (you mentioned the possibility of a heart attack)

You must feel really proud of yourself, at least I hope you do. Well done!

So your total is the same as mine, around 10.5 stone. A long journey but so worthwhile I think. Good luck 😘 xx

Definitely my two biggest motivators, and my own self confidence.

Thank you you're very kind xx

What was your intention of this thread, do you see yourself as an example of positive WLI use, or more of a cautionary experience?

Losing 8st in 8 months, with or without WLIs, would never be recommended by a health professional as it carries significant risks: gallstones, gallbladder issues, muscle loss, nutrient deficiencies, dehydration, kidney stress, and even pancreatitis. Did you ever talk to your provider about these increasing risks or consider slowing the rate down for your health and safety so you can be there for your kids?

I’m also curious how you’re feeling now that the very rapid loss phase is almost over. Once the excitement of consistent big weekly drops ends and maintenance begins, it can be hard to adjust especially when it was done so quickly. Do you worry about that shift, especially as exercise seems low and new habits haven’t had any real time to catch up and develop? Some people find they look for another source of dopamine and can slip back toward old patterns of disordered eating. How are you managing that transition?

Mainly to answer any questions anyone would have as when I started I didn't really know a lot about weight loss injections myself. And yes I was happy to have almost hit my goal, so was happy to share any tips or just chat.

I know its a fast weight loss but my doctor is aware I take it and I was made aware of the risks. At my before weight the risks were much higher for my health. As well as eating what I do, I also take my multivitamin.

The stopping it does worry me, but I've been eating better for 8 months and that has become a habit now, I don't even think about it. Only time will tell on that front. the main thing to get under control was the binging.

It was my choice to take it as I've been yoyoing for years and it's felt better running around after my kids without being in physical pain.

I appreciate your questions but I feel like there is judgement underneath them. As long as you consult your doctor and are sensible with expectations and your own limits, I feel like this can be done safely. My weight loss is slowing down now and I'm fine with that.

It is not judgement, I use WLIs myself and have lost significant weight too, I was more concerned, interested in the thought processes of someone losing at that rapid speed of loss 8st over 8 months as it feels unsafe.

You did say ask you anything, which is what I did, but if you just want “well done”’s and no other types of questions I’ll leave you to it.

KimTheresPeopleThatAreDying · 25/11/2025 19:35

We get told that being obese is a death sentence… then we get told that losing weight is a problem too. We can’t win.

Massive well done to you OP. Anyone who thinks that using a widely available tool to help make life a bit easier is “cheating” or “lazy” can piss off.

I feel like I answered your questions the best I could. That's as much as I can do.

There is judgement from a lot of people but I think everyone should just do what's best for them. As long as it's done safely I think it's a wonderful thing 💙
