I lost 23lb in my first month, but I had a huge amount to lose, my starting BMI was 53 and I went from daily binge eating and no exercise at all to small healthy meals and walking everywhere.

I now do loads of exercise every day, drink at least 4l of water and eat meals full of protein and fresh veg. I’ve lost over 12 stone and am almost at target now.

Ooo well done you 👏🏼

It varies between 0-a stone. Nobody can realistically answer your question and don’t compare your journey with anyone else’s. Depends on how overweight you are to start with, whether you have insulin resistance, how whether you eat healthy, how much exercise you do and whether you starve yourself “to lose as much as possible in a month”.

TimeForATerf · 21/11/2025 06:38

I lost a stone, starting weight 13 stone 5, height 5ft 4”.

i had a super response to it and could barely manage 1000 calories a day. Wouldn’t recommend, I felt dizzy and light headed for much of that. I did four stone in six months, I’ve kept it off a year now.

but I’ve got a lot more wrinkles!

Lazygardener · 21/11/2025 07:31

I lost just over a stone in the first month (14 stone 12 to 13 stone 11), but I was definitely a ‘super responder’ and stayed on 2.5 mg for some months. Now, a year later, I am losing 1lb or so a week on 7.5 mg and have about half a stone to go. It really does vary widely, so good luck.

Sweetiedarling7 · 21/11/2025 07:37

Potentially nothing.
Unless you are using normal non mounjaro means.
Mounjaro had no effect on my appetite until I reached 7.5mg.

chunkyBoo · 21/11/2025 07:42

I lost 5.5kg first month and 3 kg the second - currently week 10.5 so not being weighed for another 1.5 weeks - good luck

farfallarocks · 21/11/2025 07:51

Over a stone it was so fast! No booze and intermittent fasting did it

InfoSecInTheCity · 21/11/2025 08:55

It will be different for everyone. I’ve attached my week by week tracker, I started MJ on 5th September last year and had been low carbing for a couple of weeks before then.

Your starting point will be relevant. I was 51 BMI and lost a stone and a half in the first month. A year later I’m losing about 3 to 6 pounds a month, it did slow down rather quickly thank goodness.

AbundanceofKatherines · 21/11/2025 12:57

I lost a stone in the first month. Starting BMI was 31.1 - 7 months later my BMI is 22. I am 5’3” and started at 12st7.5lbs.

I hope it works as well for you as it has for me 😃 It does require will power, motivation and patience. Good luck!

TrinityWaves · 21/11/2025 17:10

My starting BMI was very high (42) so I lost 20 lbs my first month.
Next week I'll have been on it a year and these days I average about 1.6 lb a week (also have stalls and gains), the average across the whole (nearly) year is about 2.2 lb a week.
My BMI is now 24, so I know the losses are going to be much smaller. I'm about half a stone until maintenance/BMI 23.

HansHolbein · 21/11/2025 17:14

Just over a stone. Starting BMI 38.2

CaptainCorelli · 21/11/2025 17:28

I’ve lost 11lb - disappointing as it was 13lb last week but I’ve put 2lbs on in the 4th week. Starting BMI 35. Could have done more if my diet had been better though. Appetite is down but you still have to change your diet, I’m not snacking but meals are a work in progress.

Periperi2025 · 21/11/2025 17:32

I lost 16lb in 4 weeks on 1.25mg.
Staying BMI 34.9
It is so variable and individual.

Mysticmaiden · 22/11/2025 18:02

I lost 6.2lbs in the first month but I was prediabetic and 2.5mg only lasted 2 weeks suppression for me, so the rest 2 weeks was willpower and tracking, i also wasnt drinking water until 3 months in. It wasn't until 10mg that my blood sugar symptoms were resolved.

KilliMonjaro · 24/11/2025 22:36

Did you eat very clean in your first month to lose that amount?

You should be eating clean every month, Mounjaro is a drug that should be used as an adjunct to healthy eating (and lifestyle) choices in order to lose the weight at the lowest achievable dose, and therefore the least side effects and risks.

I recommend reading 'ultra processed people ' and looking at ways to increase your protein. I use unflavoured and unsweetened whey protein made up with milk and a bit of natural vanilla essence, it can be hard to hit protein targets when your overall calorie intake is low for a long time.

To get the best out of Mounjaro and for yourself you need to understand how it works and eat to support that.

It is designed to help your body create more insulin in response to high blood sugar, to increase your body’s sensitivity to the insulin it creates and to reduce the amount of glucose your liver produces. That helps your body stop storing excess glucose as fat so it helps to reduce weight gain.

So to support that you should make sure the carbs you are eating are complex, low GI so they don’t cause sugar spikes. You should pair them with fat or protein because that helps to break down the glucose into a useable form, increases satiety and gives your muscles the fuel they need to stay strong.

MJ also slows your digestion so that you feel fuller longer, it that can easily lead to constipation and bloating so you need to make sure you’re getting fibre and loads of water.

I did and still do. That’s the whole point of it, to help you eat a proper balanced diet.

Not just for the first month. It has to be a lifestyle change or it’s not sustainable. As soon as you stop the WLIs you will more than likely put the weight back on if you haven’t made changes to your diet and exercise. I’m on Mounjaro, lost 10lbs first month, have kept up with healthier eating, still have junk but it’s much more restricted than it was, helped by being on MJ. I’ve also joined the gym and am actually going 3 times a week, having lost a few stone makes this so much easier. This is all to prepare me for coming off MJ next year and to keep my weight stable for the rest of my life.

There is little point in spending the money on MJ unless you want to make a commitment to eat clean longer term. Otherwise the weight will come back as soon as you stop taking it.

Somethingsnapped · 25/11/2025 16:52

I lost about 11 lbs in my first month. My bmi was about 32/33 to start with. Since then it's averaged about 2 lbs a week, slowing down to about 1 lb a week for the last couple of weeks. My bmi is currently about 28. I've been on it about 3 and a half months, and have stayed on 2.5 the whole time, and have 2. 5 for my next pen too. I have no particular desire for it to speed up, so I'll stay on 2.5 as long as I keep losing slowly and steadily.

Good luck op. My biggest tip is... Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! My best weeks have been when I've been concentrating on my water in-take.
