Is anyone else really feeling the cold?

I am freezing. Three layers on today and I’m still shivering. Is it the jabs or am I coming down with something??? Only thing I can think of is I went up to 7.5mg recently

I am also freezing all the time. Pretty sure it's the weight loss. Less body fat, lower calorie intake, slower metabolism, etc.

I spent the summer in long sleeves and jeans and now I wear a silly amount of layers. So glad I didn't get rid of all my larger size jumpers because now I can wear one over the top of my regular jumper plus a dressing gown and a blanket.

I didn’t mind the summer, but I was frozen today

I think I always post on threads about this... Yes, me! Always cold. It can't be just from losing weight as I was like this last year too when I had only been on it a few weeks and was still 20st plus. Now I have lost nearly all the weight, I am feeling the cold even more. I have multiple layers, rechargeable handwarmers in my pockets, neckwarmer, circle scarf, wristwarmers, microwave heat pads, long hot water bottles, blankets on every sofa/seat.... I am contemplating getting a rechargeable heated jacket or gilet as well!

It was great in the summer, didn't mind the 30 plus degree days at all and never broke into a sweat. But, definitely too cold for me today.

It's a well-known side effect. It cured my menopausal hot flushes.

It's 'A Thing'

I'm just over 11 stone down from bariatric surgery and even in summer I'm only just warm enough. I'm sitting in the office just now with the heating on, an extra heater at my feet, my scarf and gloves on, and I'm still cold. I'm also really, really happy and content in a way that I ever was before (just before anyone hijacks the thread with 'was it worth it?')

I highly recommend a heated hoodie and heated gloves, along with spare gloves in every bag/car/whatever. I have a hot water bottle in the office that just lives here, and always keep extra layers in my car.

@SilenceInside See my reply above about the heated hoodie - it's brilliant!

I feel like I have ice under my skin. I just cannot warm up, even in a hot bath I’m cold

Yes very noticeably so since being on Mounjaro.

Coupled with a nose that likes dripping a fair bit in the evening.

I have always been a hot mortal and it's quite odd feeling chilly now the whole time.

Zempy · 19/11/2025 16:53

Yes. I started in January and was freezing from the outset, when I was still obese!!

Freezing again now.

AnnaQuayInTheUk · 19/11/2025 16:56

Me too. I am beyond cold. I WFH and spend most of the day sitting in my study. I had to get up and do some active marching at times .

I've always been warm, never felt the cold previously. I haven't even lost that much - less than 3 stone. My BMI is now 21 so perfectly healthy

I sea swim most days and in the last fortnight have ended up getting genuinely cold. The other day I swam with a friend about the same size as me and she wore a wetsuit. I might have to look into buying one, although I hate them.

FunnyCrabDance · 19/11/2025 16:57

Yep started mj in feb, was freezing until the summer. Coped well with the heat for first time ever!
Now on wegovy and the last few days Ive been frozen. Before Ive always have run too hot and enjoyed cold weather, this year i'm looking forward to spring and warming up again!

HappyWineDay · 19/11/2025 16:59

3.5st down and I’m always cold to the bone. Usually end up wearing a fleece at work. It’s not an unpleasant change from sweating like a pig just from breathing though 😂

JabbyMcJabFace16 · 19/11/2025 17:01

I’m glad it’s likely the jabs then and not because I’m coming down with something!

Definitely feeling much colder since weight loss, but it’s not surprising really, a layer of blubber has gone.

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 19/11/2025 20:12

When my BMI was over 40 I never really felt cold but now I have lost 5 and a half stone I need layers for insulation. Summer was great no problems with heat but from October onwards I need layers. I have thermals layers at the ready for the coming weeks. Get a heated throw - they are great, the dreamland ones have temperature settings and timer control settings.
