I’m going to struggle to get my next pen, aren’t I?

Only just realised this today, as I’m due to start my next pen next week.

just before the pricing kicked off, i had surgery. Because of my own anxieties about the anaesthetic I delayed my jab by a couple of days, so I went ten days without a jab before my op. Then because of recovering, I didn’t take a jab for two weeks - I was so exhausted and not eating anyway, so I didn’t think adding Mounjaro into the mix would be smart.

i ended up not jabbing for about three weeks so I took the decision to go back to 2.5. I had been on 12.5, and panic bought 3 15mg pens. I have counted clicks from these pens and I am discontinuing use after 5 weeks so as to stick to the guidelines.

I ate at maintenance for the three month recovery process, as advised by the nurses on the surgery unit, so I stayed at 5mg after a month on 2.5. I have pretty much maintained and I am now back to 7.5mg and starting to lose again.

I’ve only just realised that because I didn’t contact Oushk (I didn’t even think to), I’m going to struggle to get a pen now aren’t I? I’m going to have to go back 2.5 again I think

I doubt it, Oushk are quite reasonable

I’m just a little concerned as I think their guidance at the time was to continue on it for surgery. They also said I should be able to take it as I was before the op, but I couldn’t get out of bed for more than an hour so I didn’t want to add suppression onto it as well.

a bonus has been that 7.5 is now working brilliantly for me again so that’s a plus 😂

Oushk told you to use it uo to surgery? If you had a ga then this was appalling advice.

To be fair my pre op advice was the same. To let the anaesthetist on the day know and they would give me anti sickness in the morning and use a different intubation technique. I did delay my jab a little because I was absolutely terrified of something going wrong. I was due to jab on the Monday before my surgery but didn’t. My aunt who had surgery a couple of months before me at the same trust was told the same thing. I think it varies depending on which nurse you speak to for your pre assessment!

i got a leaflet from the hospital and it’s something to do with it having worse effects for you stopping and restarting than it does to continue. I ended up stopping anyway afterwards so it was all a bit of wasted advice for me 😂

Op, I recommend booking a consultation with oushk. You can then explain what you've done the last few months and why. They'll be able to see your past orders so it'll be pretty straightforward to work out when/what you need to order next. I really doubt you'll have a problem, especially as you haven't used a pen over 5 weeks.

this is what I’m hoping

Oushk are amazingly reasonable about this kind of thing so hopefully if you explain to them they will be ok with it.
It's one of the reasons I've stayed with them. They're not perfect by any means but they do treat you like an individual most of the time.

Yeah I think I’m going to WhatsApp them and ask for a consultation just to explain ahead of purchasing. My measurements have all gone down, and I’ve stayed the same weight, but obviously had to put recovery first

I’ll let everyone know what comes of my WhatsApp to them, I’m hopeful that it won’t be a problem!
