Just 0.1 under the obese range!

Placestogo · 21/11/2025 19:22

Fantastic @Apprenante such a great milestone!

i do like woollovers but im worried about buying one on vinted that has shrunk a bit. Have you had any issues so far?

ElsieJay · 21/11/2025 19:27

@Apprenante - but the key word is
UNDER !! 🍾🥂

No judgement from me on the Vinted obsession - I’ve been browsing there, and every similar outlet, for a particular Seasalt fair isle jumper from 5 or 6 years ago.
Despite me being unable to tolerate wool next to the skin …. 🙁

Apprenante · 21/11/2025 20:10

@Placestogo I had one that had clearly been in a hot wash and shrunk but I sent it back straight away (with some photos) and had no problem at all. Money was refunded in full almost immediately. I was very impressed.

Go for it @ElsieJay . I just wear a Tshirt/vesty thing underneath. And the merino and cashmere ones don't need that.

I've bought a (cough cough) few Seasalt bits too but the sizes don't seem to be so reliable.

SussexLass87 · 21/11/2025 20:34

I haven't found a cure for my Vinted obsession yet...!

SutekhsEars · 22/11/2025 08:23

0.5kg off for me this week, which I think is ok given how hungry I've been. I've decided that my current goal will be my final goal weight. That will give me a BMI of 22.9. I'm still not sure how much range is acceptable - maybe 2kg...?
I'm about to start my last Reasonably Priced Pen and hopefully that will get me to goal, then I'll need to buy an expensive one in the new year for maintenance. Maybe there will be new year deals.
Anyone got plans for the weekend? I'm decluttering.

SutekhsEars · 22/11/2025 08:29

And, I've just measured my waist - I think it's just less than half my height!

ElsieJay · 22/11/2025 08:48

@SutekhsEars - well done on the loss after a difficult week !
Re the 2kg buffer, that’s what I’m aiming for also as it aligns with WW rules. I believe you need to weigh in at least once a month when you reach goal .
Hmmmm - I should check on this - didn’t read that section at the beginning, as deep down I couldn’t imagine being nearly there….

Seahorsesplendour · 22/11/2025 09:53

Amazing to those of you almost there!!! You’re all rocking it!!!! 😍

some how I’ve lost another 4lb this week!!!! When my body decides to let go of fat it really does it!!!! 4st 10 and next loss will take me into 12st range for first time in 18years!!!!

I can’t quite believe it!!!!!!!

happy weekend everyone!!!

for those on a plateau hold on in there it will pass!!!! I didn’t think it would but it really does!!!!

Seahorsesplendour · 22/11/2025 09:56

On a less positive note my lovely dw (same sex couple) has got gall stones!! First time 😰 in horrible pain & feeling awful!! We’ve done lots of research so cleaning up diet even more (she’s on wegovy) but I seem to remember a few people on here discussing them at some point ? Any advice for a new sufferer? Did you carry on jabbing? Anything help it settle more quickly? TIA!

Gingercar · 22/11/2025 10:51

Oh gosh. Hope she’s ok. Has she spoken to her supplier? I think the other lady who got gallstones came off the drugs. But that was MJ.

HereIGoOnceMore · 22/11/2025 11:13

Sorry to hear that @Seahorsesplendour wegovy seems to cause gallstones less often than MJ but it did occur in some people during the clinical trials.

It isn’t contraindicated in the licence for Wegovy as far as I can see, but I would recommend extreme caution. She needs to let her prescriber know and her GP.

@Seahorsesplendour - great result this week, well done ! Not such good news for your partner , though - I’m trying to recall who had gallstones upthread. I remember her saying the pain was horrendous, so sending sympathy !

FlorenceNightshade · 22/11/2025 13:04

Definitely echoing that your wife needs to let her prescriber know @Seahorsesplendour. I’ve had my gallbladder out and the pain was utterly horrific so she has my sympathies!!

Im not sure what the specifics are around Wegovy so hopefully they can let her know what she should do! Are they planning on taking it out? Hopefully she’s more comfortable soon

Oh I'm so sorry!

Seahorsesplendour · 22/11/2025 13:32

Thanks all - appreciate the support! She’s at the out of hours gp now trying to get some stronger pain relief! She’s normally fairly stoical so I know it’s bad! 😢

her supplier is local chemist so she’s going to phone in the morning.

I suspect she’ll come off it, it seems not contraindicated but can exacerbate & she won’t want that!! So gutted for her it was really just starting to work!!

our son (with variety of additional needs) is finding it very challenging!! I may be hitting the wine after he’s in bed - MJ be damned!! 🙈🤣💕

edited as notice errors!!

Placestogo · 22/11/2025 13:39

It is good she is getting help - the quicker the better, no point in suffering. Good luck

Apprenante · 22/11/2025 18:08

Sending lots of supportive vibes @SeahorseSplendour to you and your wife.

Seahorsesplendour · 22/11/2025 19:33

Thanks everyone!! The gp prescribed buscapan which has helped a bit thankfully!!

how’s everyone else’s weekends going?

the wine is open!!!

HKG · 22/11/2025 22:44

Guys, I’ve done something really silly.

Taking my dose tonight, the pen stopped at 26 clicks of my 7.5mg pen. I wanted to, and have been taking, 48 clicks (=6mg). I forced the pen and managed to get a fair bit more out - counting the little lines in the window I think it was about another 20 lines so should be the right amount but it kept wiggling around. Now I’m terrified that I’m going to spend the next three days puking my guts up.

Even if I’ve estimated wrong, it can’t be more than actually going up another dose, right?! I feel like an idiot prioritising £££ over accuracy of meds but it’s just so expensive now!

Seahorsesplendour · 22/11/2025 23:30

@HKG oh that sounds stressful! It’s totally the kind of thing that would stress me out too!! But logically it seems highly unlikely that you’ll have gone over the 7.5mg dose which is a tiny step up!

even on the off chance you did, each increment
prescribed is an increase of 2.5mg which would have taken you up to 8.5 and again a bit of wiggling won’t (I am sure!) have equalled this!

have you looked at the pen to see where about a you are in relation to how many doses you’ve had?

but please don’t worry I am sure you’ll be fine! And you’re not alone!! We’re all doing our best to eke it out so don’t beat yourself up !

Seahorsesplendour · 22/11/2025 23:37

Not the clearest picture ever but one of my go to quotes for moments like this!!!

HKG · 23/11/2025 08:26

@Seahorsesplendour oh thank you for taking the time to reply! That’s a really good way of looking at it, even if it was more it would definitely not be more than a 2.5 increase. I do feel so silly but so far not nauseous so will see over the next 24 hours when it peaks in my system.

Thank you again for being so kind!

kiwiane · 23/11/2025 08:43

@HKG I did something similar and just had a week where it was harder to eat so much - no extra side effects but it made me extra careful when I had another pen stick. I googled what to do and changing the needle may have helped as it was probably bent.
I’ve now lost 3 stones and around 20% of my body weight in 6 months; I’m so thankful I started when I did as otherwise the price increase could have been offputting. I’m now losing weight more slowly but happy to lose another 1.5 stones over the next 6 months.

Gingercar · 23/11/2025 08:46

I was a bugger yesterday. I made my (scrummy) Baileys Tiffin for the cafe and ate a corner. In my defense it was cold and pouring so I was in my kiosk for 4 hours with very few customers. Then we went to a quiz night and the hosts leave a plate of celebrations on each table. I resisted for the first two hours hoping the others would eat them. But had two mini snickers and half a bag of crisps later! I only had one vodka and Diet Coke as I was driving. And it’s cold and wet again today!
